Worth at least a one night stay to say you slept in a 15th century monastery turned hostel! Super clean also. Downfall is wifi is only in the small lobby because the building is so huge. Also we waited over an hour for the only bus that goes into the city center. Since we got in after 8pm we also had to take an expensive, €40 taxi to get there and just in time! Front desk guy went home at 11pm which meant no one would have been there to check us in. Let them know if you plan to arrive late.

Hello, thanks for writing and that you liked the Hostel. Indeed it is possible that you had to wait longer for the bus as on sunday they are less and the last one is about 21.10 pm. Reception is open from 16.00 till 21.00 but we are always there till we do not see that the last host did checkin and we of course always try to contact hosts to know about their arrival. Wifi is available in the common area but being an antique monastery it is not possible to have it in the whole building. In the rooms we prefer not to have wifi so to make hosts stay together and socialize. Best greetings Bigallo Staff

Staff was great, wifi was consistently strong, there are 2 entrances that you have to be buzzed into so great security, located by hipster bars and feet away from the U-bahn. I would definitely stay there again.

This hostel is right on calle embudo which is a great area to see in the Candelaria district. They have the sweetest big German Shepard really making a dog lover feel at home. The only annoyance I found was the walls of the bathrooms were tinted windows that very much showed into the bathroom making a shared dorm even less private than it already is. Otherwise, I enjoyed staying at this hostel.

Definitely not your party hostel. It's always very quiet (literally all day and night) which can be a nice break if you've been jumping around hostels and truly just want to stay in and relax. They have the biggest selection for the book exchange that I've seen, as many warm blankets as you need and the hottest shower I've had in Bogota. This is a wonderful, quaint hostel.

This hostel is super hot. There really isn't a breeze that comes in so it's more humid than outside. It's quite uncomfortable to hang out in. But if you can handle that and a more rundown building, then the stay for the location. You're close to laundry (great resource after trekking the lost city) by the beach, souvenir shopping, street food, exito, the nice resturants and bar scene (I recommend getting an arepa from Lulo) and by carrera 5 where you can take the 15 min bus to taganga.

Amazing hostel to hang out in, which you'll need if staying in palomino where there isn't a real city to do anything other than then the beach. Downfall was the WiFi wasn't working for a few days because of its secluded location which made lounging less inviting. You're still hours away from some of tayrona ' s famous beaches and 2 hours from Santa marta. I'd stay here the night before trekking to the lost city or right after as long as you bring your bags to the entrance of ciudad perdida.

The location is in a quiet, suburban part of santa marta, farther away from street vendors, bars and resturants. One of the staff members was amazing in answering all our questions and going through the entire ciudad perdida itenerariy with us in english! Though we appreciated that they let us store our bags during the 4 day trek, we didn't like that they charged us 5,000 COP just to use a towel. Mainly because of the location, I probably wouldn't stay here again.

the staff was helpful, fun to hang out with and they gave my boyfriend and I the cheapest and most comfortable offer to share a bed, saving us money where we didn't know we could. the atmosphere is perfect for a younger crowd looking to lounge around and get to know other travelers. Also, the lounge area is downstairs and the dorms upstairs so if you want to sleep, you won't be bothered. they have a clothes exchange which is really nice for travelers on longer trips!

Super cold (colder within the hostel than outside) no hot water even though they advertise it and the water pressure is so low you can't really even shower. The beds are creaky and they turn off the lights in the common area early so it was hard to be productive anytime after 9pm. Though the staff meant well, they often gave us incorrect information. The best part of this hostel is the price, but honestly I would pay a few dollars more for a more comfortable place.

best hostel I've been in. unbeatable price for the value. you're right in Praha one, so you get to cross the Charles bridge daily. we had a huge, clean bathroom. the dorm was big with separate areas to give a more private feel. best beds, softest pillows and most luxurious bedding I've had in a hostel. I highly recommend this hostel if in prague.

Katerina And John Hotel, Santorini, Greece

John and Katerina are very welcoming and nice. We had a ferry leaving santorini at 3:15am and John offered to take us for 5€ each which allowed us to enjoy the nightlife longer. It's a cute hostel for a great price (this was during the off season, mid October). Although it's not in Fira the bus stop is literally in front of the hostel. Also, there's a 24 hour bakery and a market across the street. The black beach with it's black volcanic sand is only a short 5 min walk.
