Food was overpriced for the quality served, there were large tangles of black hair stuck to the room's bathroom wall, location is more than 10 min walk from metro and hostel is reached by walking down a filthy back alley.Staff is helpful, not friendly.

Good location(next to MTR/Taxi Stand/Center of town), nice staff, yet the room was *tiny* and uncomfortable with a rank sewer smell in the toilet-typical for HK. The cost of the room vis.size/comfort was not ideal-travelers will find better deals and be able to stretch money further outside HK-But, then again, no one visits HK expecting it to be cheap.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff. We had a decent, no frills, standard, 2 bed private room-however, the bathroom had that funky gas/sewage smell thats seems to be common in hostels/older buildings.

We decided to give CL another try as we really wanted to like the hostel, as the staff is quite lovely...we got a double privet room: unfortunately, the room had mould, the electrical wires were frayed, (thus the electrical blanket didn't work) and the internet was spotty at best-the room also had no door for the shower/bathroom-slightly puzzling as we paid a good bit more for the room.Again the staff was great, but we'd not stay here again unless they updated/cleaned the facilities.

We stayed in both the Roo and Emu and found both to be excellent! As stated, the staff, food, location, facilities are one of the best we've encountered in China-will visit again when we travel to Dali!

Vey glad to have had a chance to stay here-the staff was very helpful and so cheerful, would like to visit again when they have the family diners. Only down side was no lockers for valuables.

One of the best hostels we've stayed in! The staff is excellent: knowledgable, friendly, helpful (especially when assisting in booking train/bus tickets over Chinese New Year) We were able to leave our climbing gear for a week (locked up) no fuss-this is invaluable for climbers making short visits to other cities with no climbing. The location is just across the road from Old Town, providing a quiet night, whilst being close to restaurants, bars, shops.

It is a decent hostel, however a bit ratty and not clean. The staff is nice and the food good, however the price paid for the dorm room seemed high given the general dirt, dust and table full of travelers leftover rubbish.

Excellent hostel! The staff was friendly, helpful and very understanding to letting us check in late due to a delayed flight. The airport pick up they arranged was a life saver at 11.30 pm, and they set up a cruise down the river. Would visit again! Only criticism: in the room the bathroom door had broken at the bottom leaving a 6in/1foot gap. Fine for us, but perhaps unpleasant if needing more privacy.

The location was excellent, the room a good size and Baltica Beer was available:) However, the staff was rude when nicely asked for directions, help or clarification on buses/fares. There are no storage facilities for luggage and a strict 12 noon check out policy, creating a situation where the small entrance is filled with a rather large pile of luggage; the staff not caring to watch the pile...as they were mostly occupied with eating and playing computer games.
