Nice place in a quiet residential area. Very friendly staff.
As with most YHA hostels it's a clean, efficient hostel with good facilities but lacks that friendly, homely feel that other hostels have.
Had a lovely stay here, felt right at home. You can tell it's the kind of place where they care about your experience by little touches like your bed being pre-made, free laundry powder and tea/coffee including the milk.
It was a brief stopover but I enjoyed it here. Very spacious except for the TINY kitchen, a lot of dishes are kept at reception not in the kitchen. You get 1 hour's free wifi. I'm so grateful to the staff for driving me to the bus station when I slept in!
Lovely place, very homely, nice atmosphere, amazing views, good facilities and Robyn is so sweet! Things that could be improved would be to have wifi available all day (is available for 4 hours), have bins in the rooms and switch the heating on in the lounge - it was freezing in there!
The hostel feels like a thing on the side of the pub. Lacks atmosphere. $30 key deposit is clearly just spiteful as getting a key cut doesn't cost that much. Reception doesn't open until 11am so if you check out before then you have to give your key back the night before to get your deposit back! Which meant I couldn't get back in my room after a night out! Lacking certain dishes, eg there's only one bowl. The staff are nice, wifi is free and fairly good, lockers available, comfy lounge.
Nice place, feels more like a hotel than a hostel but is very homely. Comfy sofas in the common area. Clean but the windowsills in the dorm need a clean as there was quite the collection of cobwebs and dead insects there! Good wifi, cheery staff that care about the guests, handy location. Lockers would be appreciated.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, reliable fast wifi, good kitchen facilities, loads of comfy sofas! Free Mt Wellington trip was nice too.
Nice common area, good free breakfast. Drinks are available to buy but there is not free tea and coffee as it says on hostelworld. Not a lot of functioning power sockets.
Really cool hostel with London underground/Banksy theme. You are treated as an individual which makes for a good atmosphere. You can tell the guy that runs the place is really passionate about the hostel and wants to make sure everyone has a good stay.
Cozy is definitely the word! This place has a lovely homely feel about it. Excellent facilities, excellent staff and handy location next to the train station.
Love this hostel! Great atmosphere, made loads of friends, feels like everyone is one big family. Nice to have tea and coffee available. Good wifi. Only critism would be that the shower is always cold.
Love the pod beds, nice to have some privacy. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Amazing atmosphere, one of the most social hostels I've stayed in. Because it's so small, everyone gets to know each other - it feels like a big family. And really good wifi!!
Clean and comfortable. Good wifi when it connects but didn't connect a lot of the time. Good free breakfast. Power outlet by each bed but less than half of them work. Good location close to the night market.
Lovely quiet hostel. The young man that runs the hostel is very friendly and professional. You are treated as an individual here. Booked a tour to Halong Bay and Sapa here, both were great! Good breakfast, nice to have free tea and coffee available all day, top marks for having soymilk although that was only on one day. Good hot showers. On one night the staff were having a really loud argument in reception for about 2 hours, which was really unprofessional.
Breakfast is a feast! Free tea/coffee in the afternoon (tea was like water though - need to brew it more!) Good wifi. Not sure they take good care of your passport as after I handed mine over a member of staff put it in their backpack which was just on the floor of the common area.
Nice hotel, helpful friendly staff. I was able to check in at about 8am. The wifi didn't work well on the second floor but worked on the ground floor. Good breakfast but the eggs were so salty!
Nice quiet hostel, had a relaxing and comfortable stay. Having a kitchen was a treat. Good wifi. The staff are so sweet and helpful. The dorm had its own lounge room with a tv, fridge, sofa, lockers and a second bathroom - makes it feel more like an apartment! Our dorm room had a bad smell but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, everything was very clean.
A bit overwhelming at first but then you realise that the staff are genuinely that nice and energetic all the time. I felt as if I was with my family. The dorms are like a tin of sardines! The shower in our dorm didn't have a heater so we used one in another dorm. I booked an extra night when I was there but they sold my bed anyway, they sorted out another bed for me though.
Lovely outdoor communal area and pool. Friendly staff. Sand dunes tour was fun and cheap. Wifi didn't work at all and the staff didn't really care when I told them. Nice to not have bunk beds though the rooms look very much like prison cells!
Stayed in a private room on the top floor (8 floors!) Really cool view of the Saigon skyline. Nice and quiet up there. Clean room, good wifi. Friendly staff.
Very nice hostel. Liked the free breakfast. Fun pub crawl. Reception is always very busy but the staff are really good at multi-tasking! I don't know why the cleaners feel the need to keep coming into the room and opening the balcony doors - the stink of pollution and traffic noise doesn't help when nursing a hangover!
Nice bar and restaurant, pub crawls and other activities arranged. Good wifi. Lovely staff. Got my Vietnam visa in 24h here. Spacious, clean dorm with big lockers. Could feel every spring in my mattress, very uncomfortable! Not the place for a peacuful night's sleep as constantly drunk people coming in and out of the room making a lot of noise.
The girls on reception are so lovely and bubbly! All of the staff are very nice and helpful. The tuk tuk driver I booked through the hostel (Rocky I think his name was) was a bit too friendly and kept touching my shoulders and arms, but he took the hint after I dodged away a few times! The bathroom in room 101 takes hours to drain after a shower, even after the staff tried to fix it. Good wifi, nice pool area, also a nice chillout area with a TV. Would definitely recommend this place.
Great place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. The tuk tuk drivers that work with the hostel are lovely. Nice to be able to use the cycles for free but the seats are very hard so probably best to use for short trips not all day cycling around Angkor!
Great hostel, good facilities, good atmosphere.
Nice place, cheap private rooms. Towel and toilet roll provided. Some rooms have lockers. The wifi seemed pretty hopeless but if you're in the foyer I think it's ok. Nice and quiet.
Very basic hostel. There is aircon that is meant to be on overnight but it wasn't even on for most of the night. The security is really bad, you can't lock the dorm, a guy who wasn't even staying in the hostel followed me into my dorm after a night out. Lockers big enough for your valuables available in reception. Overall it's fine for the price you pay.
Amazing hostel - clean, excellent facilities, nice bars, spacious dorms with locks on doors and under-bed lockers.
Really basic facilities, it's pretty backwards not to have wifi in this day and age. But it's an amazing party hostel, great atmosphere, you get to know everyone and the staff are awesome! So handy to be right on the party beach too. The buckets and breakfast are only free if you stay in a private room. Breakfast is just toast but there wasn't any bread a lot of the time.
Lovely place, in a nice neighbourhood. The staff are so sweet and helpful.
Only stayed here for a few hours between my train and plane but had a nice hot shower, comfy sleep and filling breakfast. The wifi was pretty hopeless. Nice staff and a very clean and nicely decorated room.
Quite possibly the best hostel in the world! Really social atmosphere, nice communal spaces, you get to know everyone else that is staying there. They have all kinds of free tours and activities every day. The staff are very helpful. They even have facilities for you to do your own laundry on the roof or you can use the washing machine.
Very attentive and friendly staff. They helped me with everything and arranged my safaris for me so I didn't have to wait in the queue. There's no internet access but they took me to an internet cafe where I used the internet for free. One member of staff even came with me to the train station as my ticket was still waitlisted to make sure I got on the train safely - even got me a packed lunch as well! I felt more like I was staying with my family than at a hotel. Highly recommend this place!
Lovely hotel, really felt at home here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nice and a good place to meet other travellers. Takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Taj Mahal from the hotel.
Beautifully decorated hotel. Fantastic staff - very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the camel safari - it was really good fun, they go to beautiful sand dunes and provide everything that you need. Amazing social atmosphere. The rooftop terrace and restaurant is great, everyone hangs out there most of the time and you really get to know everyone that stays at the hotel. The pigeons love it too though and there is a slight risk of getting pooped on :(
This is how a backpackers hostel should be! Very social, friendly atmosphere. Lovely common area where everyone eats breakfast together and chills out in the evening. The staff are excellent, so helpful - I really appreciated one of them walking with me to the main road to get a rickshaw for a fair price when I checked out. Good wifi. A bit far from the sights but you can get a cheap bus to town/amber fort.
Exceptional customer service from the reception and travel desk. Very clean hostel. Good wifi in the room and lobby. The location, Paharganj, is the big backpacker spot but the area is overwhelming - lots of people bothering you when you're walking around. Very close to New Delhi train station. Didn't seem to be any hot water, but the weather is so hot in Delhi you don't need it.
Very clean hostel. Good facilities - free breakfast, laundry, free wifi.
Great hostel but they have a mouse problem - the mice destroyed my belgian chocolates that were in my locker under the bed!!
Really nice place with a good bar too.
Nice hostel, good bar. Love the pod beds!
I was absolutely covered in bed bug bites after spending a night here, very unpleasant! Cheap kind of hostel, it's just a place to sleep and nothing more.
Really fun hostel, good facilities.
Weird atmosphere, full of old men, not really a fun place to be. Really disorganised when I arrived, they didn't know which room I was booked into and how much I needed to pay. The girls working there are really sweet though. Although they used our dorm as an office/living space which was pretty weird.
My favourite hostel ever! Awesome atmosphere, really easy to meet people with the pub crawls, walking tours and just chilling out in Belushi's. Really nice bathrooms, good facilities, good free wifi in the rooms, very helpful staff. Can't wait for my next stay at a St Christopher's!
Nice place, about 15-20 min walk to the city centre. Good facilities, has a kitchen, lockers in the rooms, free wifi, laundry (but not self service).
Not very central but easy to get to from the train station using the tram. Free wifi only works in the lobby and is really slow. No kitchen facilities. Loads of school kids there when I stayed.
Nice enough hostel, just a bit too big to be sociable. The common area feels like a school canteen!
Amazing hostel, the best I've ever been to. Great location, great facilities, clean, really helpful staff, incredible view of Jungfrau from the dorm room balcony! Will definitely come back!
Far from the train station but easy to get to on the metro, has kitchen facilities, washing machine but no dryer, free wifi, helpful staff (but wish they wouldn't smoke in the hostel!), lockers in the rooms.
Good location if your train goes to Mestre. Not in Venice itself but you can get the bus there easily and the guy on reception was great at explaining everything about how to get to Venice and what to do there. Supermarket just down the road. Free wifi but only works close to reception. No kitchen.
Rolando is seriously creepy and inappropriate, he spent the whole time hitting on me and asking inappropriate questions, he needs to learn to be more professional! So wouldn't recommend this place to girls travelling alone! Great location, close to the train station and the city sights. Free wifi and free breakfast. No cooking facilities in the kitchen, no laundry facilities.
Young guy that checked me in was very kind and helpful. After I checked out I went into the kitchen and the woman on reception was very rude when telling me I can't use the kitchen after checkout.
This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in in terms of atmosphere and meeting people. The staff are very friendly and every night they cook pasta or provide free cocktails - it gets everyone into the common area and mixing with each other. There's always a bunch of people going out each night. At midnight they clear the common area and switch off the music so it's no problem getting to sleep. There's no keys for the rooms and only 3 lockers in a 6 bed dorm.
Very close to the train station but didn't have any problems with noise. Nice English speaking staff. Good free wifi. Large common areas. No toaster in the kitchen! You get kicked out from about 10am-4pm so they can clean which is a bit ridiculous but seems to be the done thing in Italy - I don't see why it's needed when the rest of the world manages to clean their hostels without any lockout period.
Lovely staff, great location near the train station and close to tourist attractions, free city map, good free wifi and free breakfast, small lockers in the room, fridge in each room. Expensive laundry - 9 euros and it's not self-serve, they do it for you so you'll have a stranger handling your underwear... awkward. No handwash provided in bathrooms.
Great location next to the train station and a short walk to the port. Free wifi but not in the rooms. Nice little outdoor area, good kitchen and common room. Helpful staff.
The girl on reception was lovely. Free wifi was good. Great location next to Passeig de Gracia metro and renfe - so very handy if you're going to the airport. I only stayed one night but seems like it has quite a sociable atmosphere and it would be easy to join in with the pub crawls.
Good location in the middle of the city, a bit of a trek from the train station though. Clean, has big lockers in the rooms, good free wifi, nice communal area. Really restricted hours that you can use the kitchen for which is really annoying. Roof terrace is a nice communal area but the light up there doesn't work.
The boys on reception were very nice and helpful, they spoke good English too. Kitchen and dorms are tiny, but common areas are good. Impressed with the free breakfast. Good signal on the free wifi. Big lockers in the rooms. It's about a 15-20 min walk from Atotcha train station. Good location in the middle of the city though.
Great location, in the middle of the city and next to Jaume metro stop. Nice staff, the lady on reception spoke English. Free wifi (signal not great in the room but good in the stairwell!) Clean and functional. Shame there's no kitchen.
Cheap and cheerful, had a fun stay here, the staff are very friendly - James is awesome. Has a reputation as a party hostel but is really chilled out. Annoying that you can't access the kitchen at night. Free internet is one computer only. Free meal at the woolshed was really good and it's a great place to hang out in the evenings.
Nice hostel, clean, quiet, nicely decorated lounge area with big TV, free wifi. Bi-Lo (= cheap supermarket) really close by.
Had a very comfy and peaceful night's sleep here. Quiet and clean hostel, has free wifi, aircon in rooms. Have to leave a deposit to use kitchen utensils. Very close to greyhound stop.
Really cool layout with dorms being in separate huts arranged around the pool and bar in the middle, music playing. Friendly atmosphere but could do with some activities in the evenings. Only downside was the staff on reception, they were quite rude towards guests. Also kitchen full of insects, constantly getting flies and ants in my food! $20 deposit for a mug and cutlery. Internet is $4 for an hour on a computer or for 24h wifi.
Lovely place, feels more like a farm house than a hostel, very homely. Gary is very nice and helpful. Hostel is very clean and everything in good condition. Bikes free to hire, free wifi. Very quiet and relaxing place to be. All rooms have real beds, no bunks! Definitely recommend it!
Very high standard hostel, good facilities, everything very clean and in good condition (except the TV room smells like cheese!) Huge lockers in the room, with a plug socket in. Nice big communal area with pool on roof. Activities on every night. Good location, close to the CBD and transit centre. No free internet/wifi and lacks the friendly touch of a smaller hostel.
Nice hostel, clean and good facilities. Free wifi, free breakfast (bread and milk), no lockers in rooms but small lockers available in a separate room. Location ok, close to the south bank area and not too far a walk to the city centre. Not a very sociable hostel but quiet and a great place to stay if you're wanting a quiet night. The staff are great and really care about every individual. No handwash provided in bathrooms and if you go to the toilet at night there was never any toilet roll left
Was meant to be staying in a 10 person dorm but the keys we were meant to have were missing, so they put the 2 of us in a private room at no extra cost instead, which was nice! Nice enough hostel, has the facilities you would expect.
Great hostel. Loved the free breakfast, free tea/coffee and free wifi - although it was slow at times. Forrest is lovely and very knowledgeable. The kitchen was always clean because you have to leave a deposit to use kitchen items, so people always cleaned up after themselves.
