Do not stay here!!!! More expensive than we booked, seems to be a theme within this country, you book on here, they say they don't have your booking and charge you more. We finally got a double with priv bathroom even though we booked double with shared, they wouldn't honour the price we had booked. Bathroom no toilet roll, no towels, owners+kids shouting at 6am. When we came to leave to catch our flight they wouldn't ring to see where our late transfer was because we hadn't booked through them.

Omar was a great host, but his receptionist wasn't the best, and most guests were left waiting until Omar arrived halfway through the day to sort out there problems. Our room was great, overlooking the plaza that was constant entertainment. The Internet however was atrocious, it didn't work at all. Hot water can also be intermittent.

A great place to relax after the salt flats. The bunk beds were huge, almost double bed size. The showers were great, although breakfast isn't included. Lots of lockers to store your things.

A little out of town, you need a torch to find your way home. The hostel staff are split between two hostels and you were constantly told to wait for Natalie when you had problems. One girl to run two hostels is not acceptable. The staff also like to move all your things when cleaning your rooms. The smashed our unopened bottle of cachaca that we had been carrying for weeks with no apology. You get picked up, but the van is soo dirty you need a shower after! Mixed bag of a hostel!

The staff here were extremely helpful from the start. We booked into an 8 bed dorm, there were 5 of us, and the staff thought we wanted a private dorm to ourselves. We assured them that an 8 bed would be fine, and they gave us 3 free beers as an apology! They also gave only our group breakfast as we were the only ones in the hostel that had booked on hostelworld (hostelworld says breakfast) as most of the guests were Argentinians who had booked from off the street.

We booked a double room, but we were given a room that used to be a cupboard with a bunk bed shoved in, and a small fan. I'm 6ft and could easily touch both sides of the room and the ceiling in one go! The room also had plenty of bugs. Stay clear of room 1 if you are claustrophobic!

Ruben Dario, the guy in charge of the hostel was brilliant, from the moment we arrived to the day we left he was so cheerful, and constantly making us laugh even with the language barrier, however his English is better than he thinks. We were put in the wrong room, we booked a shared bathroom, but got a private, not that we were complaining. The next day the hotel manager spotted the mistake but allowed us to stay in the better room or no extra cost. We stated for 4 nights in total, brill hostel

Staff were very helpful, walls a little thin though and shame the Friday BBQ didn't go ahead. Will most probably stay there on my return to Santiago next month.
