Garden Village Guest House

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Just a 10 minute walk to the pub street action. Rooftop bar is fun, cheap beer. booked a prvate room, bed was comfortable, BUT the walls were covered in dirt, there were cobbwebs everywhere, the bathroom had rust stains from the water, and i even saw a centipede in my room. Not a place to relax during the day.

Star Wood Inn

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Not too happy with the location. In order to go anywhere in town you MUST take a tuk tuk which cost $2 for every ride. It adds up after a while. Stay by the river it is MUCH nicer.

Budget Hostel

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Chose this place PURELY because breakfast was included. However Breakfast ended up consisting of noodles in a cup or soggy mystery sandwich. WAS was not happy about that.

Binh Yen

Da Lat, Vietnam

15 minute walk from bus station, down a little alley, which is nice being off the busy street. Rooms were basic with thiN walls, but the fridge was a nice touch. Breakfast was eggs, bread, and vietnam coffee. We booked an easy rider tour with them for $20pp for the day, was well worth it. Staff very helpful. Dalat city in general is kind of boring though.

Backpackers House

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Horrible and unprofessional. Arrived at 6am and was told my room would be available at noon went to beach for the day came back at 3pm and they had allowed he previous people to stay later in it so our room wasn't available until 6 pm!! Did not stay here.horrible unhelpful rude staff. Saw what the dorms looked like and they were filthy. We stayed at blue star they were great and only 10$ for a private next to beach!

Hostel is hip and trendy no complaints at all. HOWEVER if you plan on going to halong bay with their exclusive castaway island tour BEWARE for 200$ you will get a sandy bed with no pillow and a blanket that has NEVER been washed. The buffet meals might give you food poison and you will spend the early morning hours listening to Aussies and Brits puking and pissing themselves. The extra activities included on the trip are fun!

Hanoi City Hostel

Hanoi, Vietnam

Very comfortable. Staff is very helpful with booking tours. Breakfast is made to order. Rooms are spacious and clean. However this is not a backpacker hangout hostel.

The tuk tuk that you catch from the Bus station litetally drops you off on the corner of the hostel. So convienant! The hostel is very busy and popular. Cool art work. The staff have great recommendations for food places. 15min ride to airport.

Easy Go Hostel

Vang Vieng, Laos

Easy go is a very very basic. Everything is made out of bamboo so the walls are thin and you can hear every word and sound all over the hostel. It is right next to a temple and both mornings I woke up at 5:30 am due to very loud praying over microphones. The rooms lock by a simple padlock. The free coffee tea set up looks like it has never been clean. And the 2 toilets get grossly clogged at night.

Khammany Inn Hostel

Luang Prabang, Laos

After booking a room for 1 night the hotel informed us that in fact they were already full in the dorm room. They upgraded us to a private for only $3 more which was convienant. The breakfast in basic but free. The lication is about a 10 min earl into town. Renting bycycles is the way to go. Also thu at the front desk is a great travel agent she booked our airline and bus tickets for us cheaply!

Liberty Guest House

Luang Prabang, Laos

The liberty is a cute guesthouse in the old quarter. However there is no breakfast and no food available so you have to walk 10 minutes to find a banana. Also there is no communal area to meet anyone there and no way to do any bookings as well. If you are a backpacker go somewhere else. Comfy befs an hot shower.

Mojito Garden

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Really liked the rooms. Need mosquito nets though or mosquito candles. In the morning and evening lots of Mosquitos. Computer on site was nice when there wasn't children playing on it. Great location for the weekend markets. Helped book booked our excursions! smoothies are delicious and great place to talk to others.

YHA Bangkok Downtown

Bangkok, Thailand

The location is great. Lots to do on Silom rd. metro and sky train right outside the door. However beds are really old and the sheet is super dingy. Breakfast consists of cookies and fruit punch. No common area to hang out in. But the AC works and the shower is hot.

48 Ville

Bangkok, Thailand

Only stay here if you need to go to the dmk airport.the place is old and the rooms have a prison like feel to them. However the beds are soft and they give you free water! You can only pay with cash and in my opinion $30 is way too much to pay for this place. But it was only a 15 minute cab ride to the airport and the owner had one ready for us at 4am which was convenient.

As soon as you pull up to the curb the staff are incredibly helpful. They make you feel important and at home. The breakfast is incredible. The restaurant has good food. The rooms are the best. Super unique and the beds are like a white cloud of softness. We stayed 3 nights while recovering from an illness and it was the most amazing experience. Must stay here!!

NapPark Hostel at Khao San

Bangkok, Thailand

We stayed here for 2 nights and came straight from the airport. It was a 30 minute drive from airport and the taxi new exactly where it was. The dorms are big but you have a curtain divider that seperates you from the other bunks which is nice for privacy. Each bunk has its own lamp outlet and mirror which was convienant. You need a key to get grouch 2 doors so it makes you feel safe. Perfect location for checking out the madness of khoa San rd. great cappuccinos! Wifi is a little slow.
