We were really happy with Homey! There is a security guard in the lobby of building on duty 24 hours. Homey provides TONS or free local travel information, as well as hostel events. They helped book us a cab for our 4am departure. The beds are comfortable and clean, hot showers, AC. We booked a 2 bed private dorm and received towels, water bottles, toothbrushes, and shower flip flops! I wish every hostel in Taipei was this friendly and convenient!

This is a simple, hostel. What you see in the pictures is what you get. GREAT location. Right outside of the park, we rented a moped from the Xincheng station and it was a 10-15 minute ride from the station to the hostel. The town is quiet, food choices are limited. The 4 bunk dorm was comfortable. The beds are really comfortable, and the curtains on each bunk give it a nice private feel. AC and hot water were both great. The staff will help you the best they can.

The hostel is great! Make sure to read the directions on how to arrive at the hostel since it is tricky to find. The view is beautiful. Amy will help you with ALL of your travel questions and has a lot of great travel advice. We were disappointed that alcohol was prohibited on the entire property. It would have been nice to enjoy a cold beer in the outside famed glass house. The dorm is clean and new, but you can't control the AC and it was too hot at night. The room needs to be a little colder.

Socket (SleepBox) Hostel, Taipei, Taiwan

26th May 2016

I'm surprised Sleepbox has gotten such high reviews As a couple who has traveled to 30 countries while staying in Hostels, we expected a lot more. The staff was very unhelpful. The older gentleman who worked the check-in was pretty rude and very unfriendly. They hostel had NO travel information, no city maps, nothing. There is no atmosphere, no hostel activities, and its not welcoming Pro's: Comfortable beds, hot showers, free purified drinking water, only a 7-10 minute walk to the subway.

Perfect location, only a 5 minute walk from the Akasaka subway station. The hostel is on a quiet and safe street. We were allowed to checkin at 8am and leave our bags in storage for the day which was super helpful. The beds are clean comfortable and private. Showers clean and hot. Free breakfast consisting of hardboiled egg, toast, banana, and coffee! They make amazing coffee! The hostel also puts on free cultural events and so when we stayed we saw a calligraphy show Will deff stay here again!

Good location. easy to find from the airport bus. About a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. 5 minute walk to the nearest convenient store for food/drinks. The hostel is new and the beds are really comfortable/clean. good privacy. No locker to store valuables. House is kept really warm in winter which makes it very cozy. free welcome beer every night you stay is a nice touch.

Stayed here for a day of the Les Ardents festival. The staff was very helpful in helping us make our way to and from the festival. While there is no tram system the buses run often and were on time. This was a very standard hostel, what you see is what you get, wich was exactly what we were expecting. Overall the stay was good! only downside is there are no mixed dorms so my fiance and I had to sleep in seperate dorrms. Breakfast had a great variety.

My fiance and I booked a 6 bed coed dorm and we ended up getting 2 beds pushed togethe, which was GREAT. We booked a beer tour through hostel which ws fun and educational.

Great location! Our room balcony looked out into the bay! Loud at night, because it is right next to all the bars/clubs. When i was there back in June ALL the staff were sick which was kind of bothersome. This Hostel is VERY VERY Small, so be prepared to feel crammed.

Located about 15 minute walk from train station. In a cute park with a great restaurant right next door. Beds were comfy lights and outlets per bed. No AC though. Just one fan for a 6 bed room. Faro in general is a quite town and the town beach was actually pretty dirty. Just there for 1 night heading to Lagos faro is a sleepy town wouldn't recommend staying there for too long.

Literally an hidden oasis. You come to this hostel and time just stops. It's an incredible mansion turned into an artsy bohemian hostel. About 5 min walk from train and bus station. Rooms are spacious showers are clean so many fun things to do at the hostel you don't even want to leave. My only regret was that we didn't stay longer and get to know the people who worked there due to the type of trip we were on. Literally the perfect spot.

The view from the hostel is awesome! It's a big hostel on a hill with a glass window kitchen to see the beautiful view! We had great community dinners. Lots of good communal space. Not a party hostel. Front desk was extremely helpful and had specific methods of dealing with all his guests which was great for organizational purposes. Breakfast was great! Made to order!

Just a 10 minute walk to the pub street action. Rooftop bar is fun, cheap beer. booked a prvate room, bed was comfortable, BUT the walls were covered in dirt, there were cobbwebs everywhere, the bathroom had rust stains from the water, and i even saw a centipede in my room. Not a place to relax during the day.

Not too happy with the location. In order to go anywhere in town you MUST take a tuk tuk which cost $2 for every ride. It adds up after a while. Stay by the river it is MUCH nicer.

15 minute walk from bus station, down a little alley, which is nice being off the busy street. Rooms were basic with thiN walls, but the fridge was a nice touch. Breakfast was eggs, bread, and vietnam coffee. We booked an easy rider tour with them for $20pp for the day, was well worth it. Staff very helpful. Dalat city in general is kind of boring though.

Hostel is hip and trendy no complaints at all. HOWEVER if you plan on going to halong bay with their exclusive castaway island tour BEWARE for 200$ you will get a sandy bed with no pillow and a blanket that has NEVER been washed. The buffet meals might give you food poison and you will spend the early morning hours listening to Aussies and Brits puking and pissing themselves. The extra activities included on the trip are fun!

Easy Go Hostel, Vang Vieng, Laos

Easy go is a very very basic. Everything is made out of bamboo so the walls are thin and you can hear every word and sound all over the hostel. It is right next to a temple and both mornings I woke up at 5:30 am due to very loud praying over microphones. The rooms lock by a simple padlock. The free coffee tea set up looks like it has never been clean. And the 2 toilets get grossly clogged at night.

Only stay here if you need to go to the dmk airport.the place is old and the rooms have a prison like feel to them. However the beds are soft and they give you free water! We stayed here for 2 nights and came straight from the airport. It was a 30 minute drive from airport and the taxi new exactly where it was. The dorms are big but you have a curtain divider that seperates you from the other bunks which is nice for privacy. Each bunk has its own lamp outlet and mirror which was convienant. You need a key to get grouch 2 doors so it makes you feel safe. Perfect location for checking out the madness of khoa San rd. great cappuccinos! Wifi is a little slow.
