This hostel is great! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the bedrooms are really clean and the beds comfortable. They also have a great little bar which is good for meeting fellow travelers. The area is nice, lots of little restaurants and shops around and is really close to a subway station. I would definitely stay here again!

We only stayed here 2 nights as the hostel was full :( but we definitely would've stayed longer. The staff are very helpful, the breakfast is great and the view/terrace is awesome. Only a couple of things, the mattress in my bed was rather thin and the bed made a lot of noise! Also there was only one bathroom between 2 dorms...although I never really had to wait.

The staff at Arequipay were extremely helpful and friendly. They have lots of facilities i.e. two TV rooms with huge Tv's and a large selection of DVDs, a pool table, ping pong and table football. The communal kitchens are also great and the bathrooms were really clean.

Hotel Mitru, Tupiza, Bolivia
7.1
22nd Feb 2013

The hotel is pretty average, nice if you want a decent breakfast (get there reasonably early), some privacy and a nice pool. If you're looking for some fun, don't stay here. Just as a side note, we booked the 4 day tour to uyuni with tupiza tours (next to the hotel) and it was great. All the meals and snacks were fantastic, Maria did a great job, and our guide Rafael was the best!!

If you're after somewhere cheap to stay for a couple of nights, this is perfect. A short walk from the bus station, helpful staff and clean rooms. Downsides; there was only one computer which the staff seemed to use a lot and there's only one bathroom.

The location of this hostel is great, surrounded by hills and an easy bus ride into town it's perfect if you want to stay just outside of the city. The staff work really hard to include everyone and keep everyone entertained, especially Frenchie and Katie, and the pool is a major bonus. The rooms are big and airy with the best beds we've stayed in so far! Such a bargain too, definitely worth the bus fare.

This hostel has a fantastic location, a lovely social area which is buzzing when the free wine hour commences each night, and a bonus of breakfast with eggs and pancakes!

Tango Hostel, Cordoba, Argentina

Tango hostel is great! It's quite small so it's easy to get to know the staff and other guests really well. We had an excellent dinner cooked for us one night and the staff created a great, relaxed atmosphere.

Milhouse Hostel Avenue, Buenos Aires, Argentina
9.4
2nd Feb 2013

Although we are not party people, the atmosphere at milhouse is great. It's really easy to meet people and the common areas are always busy. The rooms are big and airy with good clean bathrooms. Only a couple of minor things, the door to the luggage room doesn't lock, the smoking downstairs where people cook and eat wasn't great and a communal lighter to actually be able to make use of the cooker would be good!! Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it :)

Art Factory San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
7.4
30th Jan 2013

We had a lovely private room with ensuite at the Art Factory which we were extremely happy with (despite the slightly odd artwork)!! However, it may have just been us, but we found that there wasn't much going on in the evenings. After attending a tango lesson on our first night we did not have any idea of other activities going on despite there being things advertised. Also, the place is a maze! If you have no sense of direction you could end up in someone else's room!

27th Jan 2013

The hostel has an awesome location directly in front of the bus station, a lovely pool and big kitchen. The room we stayed in had much needed air con and was very spacious. The bathroom was a bit rubbish as the shower covered the entire floor in water, despite there being a shower curtain there to stop it. Also we had a problem with the flush. Good hostel for what you need, somewhere to stay to get to the falls easily.

This hostel is by far the best we have stayed in so far. Ana and Marcio do everything possible to make your stay fun and comfortable, and Marcio definitely knows how to charm people with his amazing churrasco skills! A lovely atmosphere at all times and good common areas to meet people, we will recommend this hostel to everyone :)!!

This hostel is the best I have stayed in so far!! My boyfriend and I had an amazing time, the atmosphere is wonderful and Ana and Marcio are great hosts. The churrasco is definitely one of the highlights, we extended our stay twice so that we could have another one!! Many thanks to all the staff, they were so helpful and always keen to give information or advice whenever possible

This hostel is brilliant! Everyone was extremely helpful and always tried their hardest to fulfill any requests or requirements. The breakfast is great and the caipirinha happy hour is even better! The only issue was the lack of kitchen, but with a great restaurant around the corner it wasn't much of a problem!

Rio Nature Hostel, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
5.7
1st Jan 2013

The only highlight of this hostel is being able to feed the little monkeys that visit the terrace in the morning and the view. Unfortunately the hostel lacks any kind of information about Rio i.e. maps or guides etc and the layout is odd. Also none of the rooms have air con, and our room had a bit of a leak when it rained. If you want somewhere cheap just for sleeping then this will do.
