The hostel was great. Very clean and the staff wer brilliant. The only downside is that in my room some of the lockers were broken so I couldn't have a locker. But otherwise it was great.

It was pretty dirty. We were unable to check in early, despite arriving on an eary morning flight, we had to wait till 3pm. the beds had not even had the previous residents sheets removed. Ony after complaint did we get moved . Even then through our stay, beds were vacated but never stripped. The kitchen facilities are in the rooms which is really awkward. Some staff were ace - the manager and Davis but others were less helpful and friendly. The wifi kept cutting out.

The dorm was cleaner than another hostel we stayed in in Auckland (Frienz) and the bathroom facilities were great. But the kitchen facilities were a bit poor and cramped. Overall fine for a night.

Hi there, thank you very much for your feedback. We agree with you that the kitchen space is not big enough - unfortunately this is only space we have. We are re-stocking our kitchen every couple of weeks as guests keep taking them with them when they leave. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels and we will see you again soon. Thanks Nomads Auckland Management

It was a bit strange as the rooms are above a pub and quite a way out of town in a non residential area. But the owner was really friendly and helpful, it was very clean and the wifi was free and really good. Plus they made us a coffee in the morning which was great. Beware though on some nights its very noisy. The door to the toilet wouldn't lock!

We really liked staying at U-Baan. Joy the owner is brilliant and helps in anyway she can. The rooms are really clean too. We stayed in both a 3 bed dorm which was fine and also a double room which was brilliant - huge and better than any budget hotel we have ever stayed in. There's a kettle, fridge and toaster in the communal areas plus great wifi even in the rooms. The location is a way from the centre but the sky train is only 5 mins walk away and runs really frequently. Def recommend,

It was very dark and pokey with a strange atmosphere which i was pleased to leave. We found the staff (mainly the young boys) really unhelpful and sullen - Basic things like not being able to make a cup of tea or coffee or use the plates/cutlery in the kitchen. It was totally unclear what you could or couldn't do. The room was clean but the bed was hard to climb onto. Plus the room was small to put bags in. The location was hard to find in a tuktuk though the airport pick-up worked well.

Just brilliant!! We were made to feel really welcome. Jason and Amber and all the staff are really helpful as they want everyone to have a great time. The cooking facilities and communal areas are great and well set up. Breakfast is great and one of the most social times of day. Basically the craick is top here! All the residents tend to go out together. People don't want to leave. Its clean and safe. Would highly recommend to any traveller especially if travelling on your own.
