A fantastic hostel. The location is literally perfect! LA is so big that is almost impossible to stay in just one area of the city and still get to experience the city life/hills and tourism/the beaches and piers etc. so this hostel is perfect for those wanting to visit the beaches and famous pier. The neighbourhood is safe and secure and much classier than Hollywood Blvd hostels. Great staff, clean rooms, easy access to transit. 5 STAR! Definitely would recommend if visiting Santa Monica/LA!!!
In a really sketchy area. Dangerous to walk around the area even during the day, despite close proximity to Bolt Bus, Union Station and Downtown. Stick in groups. Hostel itself is good, although its bad that you have to pay for luggage storage when checking out - this should be free. Beds clean, although 4 bed dorm has another room attached with no door - so its basically an 8 bed! this should be advertised! Some floors the showers are communal. WiFi good and breakfast sufficient enough.
There are a good choice of hostels in Seattle - I've stayed at what I would call the 'Top 3'. This is one of them. All 3 are located in prime downtown areas, but in Seattle you still get the less-desirable folk loitering nearby. From this hostel only a block up the street is some kind of shelter/hospital, with a dozen crazy eyes mumbling and smoking meth outside. BUT... this hostel is good! Good breakfast, wifi, near tourist attractions. It's worth staying here if you are in Seattle!
Very dated in comparison to may of the other HI hostels i've stayed @ in US. The plugs in common area were so old they wouldn't take a mac plug! Beds very unstable wood, no shelving for water or phone if on top bunk. no surrounding bars. Location was good and staff were pleasant, but the hostel lacked the spark that other HI hostels have had in America. After previously staying in the Banfield motel listed on here, i'd say pay the extra few dollars and stay there. Just being honest :/ sorry!
I've stayed in a ton of hostels in North America and this one was by far the best. The staff are interactive. friendly, approachable and just amazing. The location is perfect. The common areas are modern, the rooms are clean, the home welcomes you, its not a corporate dorm, its a place to make memories and new friends. Stay no where else in New Orleans, this is the place you want to be! Facilities are all great - bathroom, towels, linens, wifi, garden patio area, kitchen, breakfast etc.
this hostel was horrible!this was foul. sooo dirty and smelly, they had drinking games on but the actual building had no atmosphere, it was stinky. The room was 100 years old. The shower was handheld pipe. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE NOT FUSSY AND NOT DESPERATE. Its the worst hostel i've ever stayed at in my entire whole life Good: close to subway (but so are most in London!), girl at check in friendly. Bad: everything else! wifi didn't work the entire time i stayed. not even anything!
lovely people, but the room was dated.there was a horrible smell and the bed was uncomfortable. rooms in need of modernising and investment. great location, staff super and wifi good.
good location, staff great, wifi worked fine. only real gripe was that the room i was in (right next to kitchen) was so stuffy and hot, and the fan did not do much to bring cooler air, making the sleep really uncomfortable, which is a shame as the bed itself was great. also, shame no mirrors in shower rooms. would stay again when needing to stay in the area.
great location, although a little far from subway (10min walk), rooms quite crowded and so snoring seems so close, but it is great in the bar etc.
good location - 20 min walk or 10 min bus ride to OB. safe, cute and big rooms. only moan is that there was no air con we had like 10 fans in the room instead.
Ok, its not a hostel, but for the price - PRIVATE room with no snoring neighbours, super fast wifi, tv in room, private bath, toilet and closet! You can't go wrong! Close to Starbucks, Rite Aid, bars, restaurants and most importantly both busses and Max to downtown and surrounding areas, its ideal for a traveller and a good chance for some privacy between hostels and camping! I paid $60 and had an awesome stay, so much so, that I extended my stay the next morning. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
very pricy for a hostel. very basic interior but good atmosphere and location. would recommend for young people/groups.

good hostel, location is great and awesome party atmosphere! also steyed in the WeHo one.
GOOD: * Not too far from transit * Clean and secure * Staff ask to see passes before allowing people inside. BAD: * Location AWFUL. far from tourist attractions and in extremely dangerous neighbourhood. Meth addicts everywhere. One lady was licking a bin, others smoking CRACK outside. felt so unsafe in the area. * Police escorted us back concerned! * No atmosphere, lack of activities STAY IN THE FISHERMANS WHARF HOSTEL, SO MUCH BETTER LOCATION & WITH ALL THE HI BENEFITS THIS ONE HAS.

I loved the hostel, although staff were abrupt and rude (it could have just been a bad day) but they seemed very stressed out. Also, laundry is only open after 4.30 (why? we do it ourselves anyway!). Location is amazing, views are great, fun times.
GOOD: Staff, close to beach, wifi, free breakfast. Good for those into surfing etc. close to mexico, lots of hostel activities to get everybody together, outdoor seating areas. free water and pretzels on check-in. BAD: Neighborhood a bit sketchy, drugs everywhere, i felt a bit uncomfortable, not my scene. showers very basic, facilities basic, noisy.

Really great location - front of house staff very helpful and friendly!
Loved it! Very safe and right up the street from London Bridge tube station. Hot Aussie Boy on the reception desk, free breakfast, connecting bar and great atmosphere
Very young place, not really a party hostel. Great for people exploring New York.
no character, i was treated like an inconveniece when attempting to check in, leaving me to wait 20 minutes while the staff argued. the room was stuffy, and the bedding looked filthy with uncomfortable plastic covers on the matress. the location was good right oposite the subway stop, but in general it was a disappointment.
I stayed on and off for a long period. WiFi is bad- only works downstairs, very poor in rooms. Location is amazing, Staff are super! Free breakfast great! although its not on for long enough so it gets really busy! It is expensive for a hostel, but this is Vancouver right? Thats what everything is here!
Great atmosphere! The staff are so friendly and enthusaistic - a great Vegas experience!
Great location, very friendly staff. Easy walking distance to the heart of Nashville - a true American experience!!
I loved the hostel. It was huge with a lobby you'd expect to see at a large Hotel! The *only* not so great thing was that due to its size it lacked character and was hard to meet people in, but, thats certainly not a reason to not stay there! Its location is excellent, with walking access to city center shops, the lake, the bean and public transit. I would highly recommend this hostel!
This is potentially the best hostel that I have ever stayed in! The team are great, location is incredible, area is so safe I walked to the train station alone at 5am. Hostel is clean, wifi super fast. Cannot recommend this place enough!
EMAILED TO SAY THEY HAD CLOSED AND THAT THEY WOULDN'T REFUND MY DEPOSIT PAID! DISGRACEFUL
Great place to stay for access to the beach
GOOD: Staff friendly, very close to Toronto shops, gay scene, walkable to most attractions, niagara falls tour picks you up outside. Although its an extra cost, the evening food is great in the cafe downstairs... BAD: ... however, breakfast a little overpriced. Internet very slow. Bathrooms in need of modernization and cleaning. CONCLUSION: Great value for money, would defo stay there again on future trips.
Private en-suite room for $40 pn in Manhattan = AMAZING! Breakfast was free (bagel and fruit/cereal) nothing earthshattering but every little helps! Its a bit of a character-less place but thats no reason to not stay there! In the heart of the Gaybourhood - great access to WTC. Bronx, Central Park, Shopping area (Macys) on subway Internet only works in main common room (locked after 11) so that could be improved! Right oppostie a police station so very safe feeling, like most of Manhattan.
Staff were once again fantastic, frustrating that there was SOOOOO many school kids there - annoying, loud and kind of changed the atmosphere! I would have advertised their presence as a lot of people were moaning! Also not impressed that you have to pay for wifi! Its like £3 per day!! Location was great, short walk to Paddington station/underground.
Best Hostel i've stayed in. Staff were helpful and informative. Location was epic. Close to everything. Regular events and nights on to encourage socialization between travelers. Massive bedrooms - breezy and fresh. Exceptional shower and toilet facilities. Wendys just around the corner. Liberty Bell yards away!
Good: Lovely place to stay. Close proximity to the gaybourhood in Chelsea. Rooms are spacious considering there are just two beds. Blocks have different front doors. Receptionist was slightly abrupt but i'll let that slide. WiFi in communal room, lovely garden with lovely christmas tree. Bad: Breakfast non-existent, not many group things going on. Overall: Great place to stay in NYC. Close to the Subway and really good for accessing all parts of Manhattan.
Stayed as a pit stop before an early flight at Heathrow. Close to tube so could easily manage the 2-train journey to Terminal 3. Really nice stay. Room was very hot, but then it was cold outside, so I can understand why heating was cracked up. Room was small but nice big lockers and a nice light on the bed. Bathroom was tiny and was quite poor standard - but this is a hostel right! I'd stay again for the odd night, but don't think I would stay for multiple night trips.
