The beds were comfy, everything was clean, and the staff was very helpful! One suggestion - privacy curtains around the beds. The bed lights are bright enough to disturb other people, so everyone ended up using their phone flashlights for light to be considerate. Privacy curtains would be very helpful!

J-Hoppers Hida Takayama Guesthouse

Hida Takayama, Japan

Bedrooms were very well laid out - curtains around every bed, personal lights and space next to the mattress for your things, plus enough room to sit up on each bunk bed. Lockers big enough to fit a laptop. Only downside was reception closing relatively early - 10 PM.

Arenal Backpackers Resort

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

The pool and swim-up bar was quite nice - the bar was provide-your-own alcohol, so you could either cheaply purchase alcohol in town or buy a drink from the bar and bring it over to the pool. The hammocks and trampoline were also lots of fun, the lockers for tent-stayers were large enough to store all our belongings, and the showers had good water pressure and water temperature. The only thing missing was a communal kitchen.

Pension fuerDich

Zurich, Switzerland

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - definitely the best part of staying here. The building was nice, the room was spacious and clean, and the food in the cafe downstairs was good. The only downside was that it was a bit out of the way.

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

The hostel was close to the Hauptbanhof, a big plus in terms of getting to the city and traveling to places such as the Olympiapark and Dachau (everything else was walking distance).

EastSeven Berlin Hostel

Berlin, Germany
