The very high heat and humidity, even with the two fans going, together with the nightly noise from the bar area made sleeping at Mamallena quite challenging. The location of the dryer in the kitchen made it almost unbearable to spend any time there. The fridge, most likely because of the intense heat in the kitchen did not keep the foods sufficiently cool.
We enjoyed our stay in this family's home. Our room with the private bathroom as well as the kitchen were very comfortable.
We had a very nice comfortable stay at Park Life Hostel. We liked its amazing location and its more personal nature.
We had very good stay at Chasqui. Staff was very accommodating. We appreciated the DVD's we could play in our room, nice big kitchen as well as the free of charge use of the washing machine.
Our room at the back of the house, right next to the kitchen did not have a window, thus when people cooked, it became unpleasant. The door and its locking mechanism did not close properly. The mattress was so well used, it was almost impossible to find a comfortable spot between the springs to find a little bit of comfort. The bathroom had a constant smell to it.
It has been a pleasure to stay at Princesa Maria. My wife and I grew very fond of it and felt very much at home. We could not have had nicer hosts than Sr. Victor and his amazing son Saulo. We spent eleven nights here and wish it could have been more. If we'll ever venture into Banos again, this is the place we'll want to stay at.
Our room as well as the security were fine. The bathroom and the kitchen were not kept very clean. Even though credit card payment was allowed not only by the owner of the hostel, but also by the signs posted at the entrance, cash was demanded of us by the daughter. We had no towels available to us upon our arrival and had to ask for them, after seeing the landlord giving them to other guests. The breakfast we had received here was the worst.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. It was perfect.
My wife and I have already conveyed our satisfaction to the staff. We really felt very much at ease. The way the hostel was designed and equipped invited interaction between fellow travelers.
We stayed in room #4 on the third floor. The central location of the hostel is its biggest plus. We also enjoyed the breakfasts served. TV in our room was nice too. The hostel however needs to renovate most of their bathrooms and they need to clean them on daily basis. The bathroom on our floor did not have toilet paper for over a day. The kitchen needs much more than 1pot as well as a draining rack and some tea towels.
