Backstreet Youth Hostel

Staff were friendly and location is right next to the pedestrian street and the Sun and Moon Pagodas. Rooms were clean but the floor was just concrete and the walls were dirty. There is absolutely no wifi connection in the bedrooms only in the common area downstairs. Package trips through the hostel to see the Rice Terraces etc., were expensive but maybe they are expensive in all hostels.

Showbiz Inn at West Street

Yangshuo, China
100%

A friend and I stayed in Showbiz Inn for a week. Not only did we fall in love with Yangshuo and it's beautiful scenery but also the amazing staff working in Showbiz Inn. We stayed in a twin room ensuite which was clean and spacious, better than most hotels. There is an amazing rooftop bar with views over Yangshuo and the surrounding mountains. You can book tours through the hostel which are reasonably priced and always worked out great for us. Bike hire is only 15 RMB. Our fav hostel in China!!!

Pros: It was a great location, right next to the metro and a lovely walk along the canal to the Bund area. The staff were friendly and their english was good. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and reasonably priced. Cons: Window in room looked onto the corridor in the hostel so no natural light. The cleaning staff were extremely loud in the mornings and seemed to sit on a table directly outside our window. There was a terrible smell of toilet in the bar where you have breakfast.
