Quite basic but it's really cheap for Lucerne. Location is rather good - it's very close to the lion monument; and though not right at the city center, there's a bus stop right in front of the hostel, and by walk it's just around 15 mins to the main train station.
Far away from the tube and supermarket (10 mins walk), but there's a public bike dock just outside the hostel (2 pounds/day, max. 30 mins/section). Very close to hyde park and natural history museum, but you need a bike or use the tube to get to else places. Kitchen is big enough and well equipped; Bath is ok but not great; Breakfast is OK - bread, butter, jams and cereals; with milk, coffee and tea, but not tasty. Doom beds are ok, but the lockers are noisy to open.

Nice & cozy public space; good-enough but certainly not fancy rooms. The main issue staying here would be it's location. While it isn't very far away from public transport (15 mins non-stop walk to Kyoto Station, 10 mins walk to Bus stations), there's nothing but residential within 10 mins reach. No mall, no shops, no restaurants, no nothing. Just boring street and buildings. Other than that, it's ok to stay here.
