Actual not a real hostel, rather a low-budget hotel. Located in a resedential areal with restaurants, bars and supermarktes. 15 Minuten metro ride to Duomo. Basic rooms, but clean. Can be very hot inside while nights in summer. But we got a ventilator without asking at the last day. Owner and staff speak basic english and were very friendly.

Nola Jazz House

Good place to stay with a nice atmosphere given and friendly staff. You can easily get in contact with other travelers. Young travelers, most interested in parties. Negative: Someone vomited in the toilet without cleaning it until next morning. One morning breakfast (which is included in price) started 1 hour delayed, because staff came late. Pros: Only a few stops by streetcar to Bourbon Street and surrounding areas. All over: I would recommend this hostel :-).

Location is really near downtown and you can reach many sights by foot from there. Staff is ready for your questions but I felt more welcomed in other hostels. The cleanliness of the rooms and linen could be improved, many stains and hairs on it. The price is in order, but not cheap at all thinking about the basic rooms you get.

Jordan Tower Hostel

Amman, Jordan

Well located in the heart of downtown Amman. Room was tidy, clean and with a TV and hot shower. Manager seems to be overstrained, but I can feel with him (worked everyday from 6 a.m. till midnight). Perhaps the owner (were never in the hotel) should think about that. Good: Shared Trips they organized, breakfast included, common area, heater/aircon, roof terrace Bad: They forgot our airport transfer in the first place when we arrived :-(

Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. Thanks also for your Human Resources input regarding your observations of staffing.. Let me clarify - no one works everyday from 6 til midnight - You arrived in the holiday period and a time when we had bad weather and some staff couldn't get to work - therefore you saw the same individual more than usual for that reason. Thanks for your genuine concern. Hope you had an otherwise enjoyable time. I am the owner and am present each and every day

Valentine Inn

Budget hotel. Owner and his wife very unfriendly (I never saw him even talking with one of the guest). The egypt "manager" is nice and appreciate a little chat. Room was really dirty and so cold, that we could see our breath. But no need to turn on the heater for them (probably to save money I think). Instead they offered us an extra heater for a charge, we disaggreed. At least they could have offer us some extra blankets, but no concession. Pro: Dinner Buffet for 5JD and Petra is really close.

Rumshines

Bedouine tourist camp in the desert of Wadi Rum. Simple tents, but with good beds and enough clean blankets. Western toilets and cold showers, and this in the middle of the desert(!). Staff was great and nice. We had a very good time during our overnight stay with fresh dinner and breakfast. A small bitter pill: Didn't accept the deposit we did on Hostelword. In his eyes it's only money for them, so we paid that complimentary. So better book this directly on their own webpage to safe some money.

We stayed here for one night to leave early to Wadi Rum. Great place with kind-of "bungalows" offering big rooms, tidy, clean and mostly working bath rooms. The have a terrace with an own pool and a bedouine tent to chill and relax. From there you can see the public beach just behind the mainstreet (not even 1 minute to walk). Breakfast is included, but had better one in Jordan. The offer other dishes. Not cheap, but very good. Staff is nice and friendly, although sometimes a little "macho" ;-).

Good location for one night to catch an early flight. It's possible to get to Dublin Centre in about 25 minutes by bus as well. Staff was friendly and willing to answer our questions. Negative: TV was broken, front door was open at night although reception was closed.

Belfast International Youth Hostel

Typically youth hostel. Room was very basic, shower with kind of "jail feeling". Staff was friendly and gave good advises how to get to some places in Belfast. Some rules seem to be senseless (eg. no fastfood after 11pm in the hostel allowed). Great: The Causeway Café in the same house, which had a lot of breakfast stuff for fair prices.

Hello Kristof And thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We do not allow fast food in after 11 in consideration of other guests smelling the food in shared rooms and also to prevent spillages and stains. Nevertheless we hope that you enjoyed your time in Belfast and that you'll be back with us again! Belfast International Youth Hostel

Elite Guesthouse

Great place to stay in Mostar, only 5 minutes from the old town with the stari most. The room was small, but very tidy and had air condition. Meša is a great host, always willing to help you or for chat. We took the Famouse Tour which is offered from him. A great way to visit some nice and interesting places in Herzegowina. Recommendation for this guesthouse!

We had a great stay here. Dzemal and his mother are two very friendly and hospitable people always being up for chatting or a coffee. Location is perfect 5 minutes away from the center of busy Sarajevo and with nice view on the surrounding mountains. You really feel more like a guest than a customer at their home. So we could get a better view in Sarajevon life while our stay. Plus: Thank you for picking us up at the aurobuska stanica after the long journey! :-)

Activity Hostel Budapest

Excellent location near Deak Ferenc Ter with metro access. You can reach most sights in a few minutes by foot. Rooms and bath rooms (3 toilets, 3 showers) were clean, but a little bit crowded in the morning. We had to wait, but got used to it. The kitchen had everything you need and was modern. There was even a small common area with a couch and a TV. A lot of leaflets were hanging out to inform you what to do with your time - books and DVDs as well. Staff was friendly, but distant.

Galina's Flat

Moscow, Russia

Beside the sowiet style of the flat - which is in fact an experience - we didn't like our stay here. Flat Owner Galina wasn't really a hospitable person. I missed some nice chattings and secret hints, what to do in Moscow. And it was the first time we had to put linen (which were even too short) on the bed by ourselfs in a hostel. No problem with cats, but the whole stairway were smelling and the cats didn't look healthy at all. Seems like the owner got bored of having guests since a while.

Diva Hostel

Great hostel in the heart of Nevsky Prospekt. You can reach all of the mainsights by walking - places for shopping or eat as well. The administrator Irina is friendly and very obliging and the staff will help you with everything you need. The kitchen has everything you need and there are 2 showers and 2 toilets, each in different rooms. Cleanliness was really unexpected for a hostel. Suprising there were not many guests when we were there, because it's definitive worth to stay here!

TNT Hostel Moscow

Moscow, Russia

Hostel with about 22 beds in a real tiny flat. There is only one shower, which can be crowded if the hostel is really full. Kitchen is very small and isn't possible to be in the kitchen-room with more then 4 people. The whole hostel needs some renovation everywhere, which started when we were there. The staff isn't really friendly, except of the manager with who you can make some smalltalk. But really disturbing is, that you can't hardly find it. There is no sign, even not on the doorbell.

The hostel is located near the french embassy and there are everything you need (like supermarket, exchange office, bank, etc.) in the near neighbourhood. Even known spots in Bucharest are reachable by walking like the restaurant and bar streets of Lipscani. The hostel is tidy and has a modern look direct out of an IKEA advertise. The kitchen has everything you need and breakfast is included in price as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful in all requests and had a good sense of humour.
