Keystone House Kings Cross

London, England

I'll preface this review by stating that this was the last hostel we stayed at after backpacking Europe for two months. We only stayed for two nights and stayed downstairs in the windowless room with two bunk beds. It was very basic and the noise of the passing train was very faint. The best thing about this hostel is the location. Other than that, there is no free WiFi, you have to pay to store your luggage, breakfast is ok but they often ran out of things, and the showers were sometimes dirty.

We loved our time in Brussels and it was certainly made possible by Philippe and his wonderful guesthouse! Upon our arrival, he gave us several maps and circled the main attractions of the city and how to reach them. Each morning Philippe served us a delicious breakfast and offered his knowledge of the city. Our room was clean, bed was comfy, bathrooms were clean, and everything was wonderful. Highly recommend staying here, because Philippe will treat you like royalty.

St Christopher's at The Winston

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Overall a great hostel; however, it was a bit pricey. We also did stay during New Years so I'm sure that's why. Breakfast was decent, room was cleaned daily, downstairs bar was always exciting and had pretty good food and drink specials. Staff was friendly. Location was great-right near red light district and Dam Square. You have to pay to store your luggage, which was uncommon at most of the other hostels I've stayed at. Other than that, a nice place to stay.

Wombats City Hostel Berlin

Berlin, Germany

AMAZING HOSTEL! Clean rooms, hot showers, friendly staff, Wi-Fi downstairs and in the upstairs bar. Walking distance to the Metro and Alexanderplatz. Breakfast was not included and costs a couple extra euro but was pretty decent. Upstairs bar was always full of people and had great drink specials. Overall, a fun, exciting hostel!

Atlantis Hotel Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki, Greece

A nice place to stay and a short walk to the train station and literally a step from the bus station. Aristoelous Square, the White Tower, and Tsimiski St. are just a 10-25 min walk away. Staff was extremely helpful in helping us with the bus schedule and how to get to the airport. Hot shower and comfy beds, along with the room being cleaned daily. Wi-Fi signal was a little weak, but other than that would definitely recommend!

Stavros Villas

Santorini, Greece

All around excellent guest house! We backpacked abroad for two months, and Stavros Villas was by far one our favorite places to stay. Stavros picked us up at the port and then drove us back to his house even on short notice. He also arranged for a rental car to be dropped off to us and gave us an excellent deal. His wife also delivered breakfast to our room every morning. Finally, Stavros drove us back to the port even though, our ship left at 3AM. Highly recommended!

Athens, Greece

The best things about this hostel are the location, price, friendly staff, and the outside taverna. Other than that be prepared to not have hot water or heat in your room. There was also a big group when we were there, so the kitchen ran out of breakfast most mornings. However, for the short walk to the Parthenon, Ermou St, and the price, you can't beat this hostel.

Sergio House

Rome, Italy

Overall a great guesthouse that was only a 5-10 minute walk from Rome Termini station. However, we felt a bit uncomfortable in the area. There were many creepy looking people roaming the street outside, which was rather unpleasant. However, the room and shower were clean. Breakfast was good and you got a good value for your money.

Il Ghiro Guesthouse

Florence, Italy

We backpacked Europe for nearly two months and Il Ghiro by far was one of the best places we stayed. Francesco made us feel so welcome and many mornings we woke up thinking we were in our own bed because it was so comfortable! We ended up staying an extra night because we loved Florence so much and Il Ghiro only added to our positive experience. Highly recommended!

B&B San Giacomo Venezia

Venice, Italy

Awesome B & B with clean rooms, clean bathrooms, and very nice breakfast. Etalia (forgive me if I am misspelling your name) and her husband were such gracious hosts and consistently ensured that we were having an excellent stay. Free wifi with a strong signal was also a huge plus. Would highly recommend!

Be Ramblas Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

Safe, clean hostel located right off of La Rambla. Very nice staff, clean bathroom and room, and a computer downstairs in the lounge/kitchen area. Would recommend!

Itaca Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

Awesome, clean, fun hostel right in the center of Barcelona. Staff was extremely helpful with questions about attractions in the city as well as how to get to the airport. Lockers in room and two computers downstairs was a plus. Shower had hot water, but you had to hold in the button for the water to come out. Breakfast was subpar. Everything else was great!

Overall not a bad place to stay because let's face it: You're in Paris and unless you are willing to pay top dollar for a five star hotel, you are kind of limited in your choices. This hostel was right in front of Sacre Coeur and just a 10 min walk to the Gare du Nord train station. It was also close to Moulin Rouge as well as the red light district. The rooms were clean, but there was no hot water in the bathroom. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was basic (croissants, cereal, coffee).
