Riad Etoile de Mogador, Essaouira, Morocco
22nd Sep 2013

We only stayed at this hostel one night. We received a lovely welcome and told we were staying on the terrace. The terrace room looked NOTHING like the pictures on hostelworld (I think they are of the suites) and was quite basic but comfortable and nice. Unfortunately we were robbed that night (the lock on our door didn't actually work that well, you are supposed to deadlock the door, which we weren't aware of), and found ourselves locked out of the hostel, which was terrifying at 3am.

Thank you very much for your comment. The room on the roof is a Double Room. It's a simple room with a private terrace. Just to clarify, the lock works well but with two turns of the key and the other lock on the door. In Essaouira, all terraces communicate. That is the problem but the police makes the serious investigation. We are sorry for this problem and have try to make the best for resolve this problem and help you.

Riad Imourane Hotel & Surf Camp, Taghazout, Morocco
18th Sep 2013

We booked this hotel not on a pre-arranged surf camp, which all of the other guests were on. As such, we didn't really get much of a welcome or orientation and found the hotel quite uncomfortable during the day (when all the other guests were out and we chose to laze by the pool). The riad itself is beautiful, and the food lovely, but I wouldn't go there unless you're on a packaged holiday. Staff weren't that helpful in organising surf classes for us.

Rainbow Marrakech, Marrakech, Morocco
11th Sep 2013

We booked with Rainbow Marrakesh because we wanted a friendly atmosphere where we could meet people. Unfortunately they don't actually have any of the double rooms they advertise, so we were taken to another hotel. This was annoying as we only booked the hotel based on the reviews. The hotel we actually stayed at was clean and comfortable, but we were asked to change rooms three times over four nights and the staff were mostly unhelpful and uninterested. Wouldn't return.
