Basically, one has to pay for everything except the matress, be it internet access or sheets. Therefore, the (a little bit) lower price compared to other hostels is rapidly outmatched by thoses additional spendings. So be careful before booking and include potential extra-costs !

We really enjoyed our stay at the hostel. The host was very kind, giving you valuable tips on trips to do and even provided her own cooking material. The 2 bed private we stayed in was equipped with a bathroom and a tv, as well as air conditioning. Everything was very clean and the breakfast simply delicious. The hostel is located near a shopping mall and its supermarket. It takes only 2 minutes to walk to a bus stop that will take you to the urban terminal, where buses to the waterfalls leave.
During all our stay, we had the impression that the staff didn't really care about us. There was sand on our sheets, the kitchen wasn't that clean and the cooking material quite used already. The security measures were rendered inefficient by flawed implementation.
The hostel is located on a hill, giving you a nice view on the town of Blumenau. Brigite, the hostel manager, prepared us a rich and delicious breakfast, including German traditional sausage and other specialities and gave us valuable tips and recommendations for trips in and around Blumenau.
Nice breakfast (although some more food could be available for peolpe who don't take breakfast very early) and delicious thai cooking, welcoming staff and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the plastified beds proved to be quite uncomfortable to sleep on (one bed simply hadn't been taken out of its original plastic bag) and the air conditioning was very loud and, since it was incorporated into the wall, made the wall and adjacent beds vibrate.
