Great place to use as a base for the whole of Tuscany but make sure you have a car! The staff are brilliant. We turned up with no plans and 4 days to burn an the staff gave us a full 10 page printout of maps and itineraries to follow while there. We saw places we never would have known about. And the apartment was large, clean and comfortable. Great value for money.

Alain and Annie were great hosts with a huge knowledge of the WW1 events around Ieper. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Annie gave us a lift into town so we would make our tour on time and we enjoyed talking with Alain at night about his WW1 knowledge. The breakfast provided was one of the best we have ha during our travels on the continent.

We really enjoyed this hostel. The bar and communal spaces make it very easy to meet other travellers and locals. The location is great. Right near the old harbour and a short walk to the museums and town centre.

Really good hostel in a fun part of Berlin surrounded by bars and cafes. The hostel is close to the metro line so it is max 15mins to the main sights. Awesome courtyard and communal facilities.

Art Hole Hostel

We had a great time at this hostel. The big 4 bed dorm upstairs was awesome, as were the facilities. It felt like we had a three bedroom, fun share apartment separate from the day to day hostel section two floors down. This gave us a good place to meet and chill out with other travellers. The location was perfect; about 10 minute walk to the old town. The only downer was the boiler needed replacing and so the showers were cold... but, oh well.

The upstairs boiler is now repaired. Hot water is here again!

Greg & Tom Hostel

This is the BEST hostel I have stayed in during a trip that has included more than 20 other hostels. The staff are the best, the dinners are a great way to meet other travellers and the nights out are the funnest. Sometimes Greg and Tom make secret appearances too. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Hostel Jacob

Brno, Czech Republic

We stayed in Hostel Jacob in February and as such it was pretty quiet - but so was the rest of Brno. But that aside, the hostel was really good and I imagine in busier times it would be a fun place to meet people and to stay. It did the little things right. For example, in the dorms the bunks had a curtain on one side which gave you that little bit of privacy and there was a coffee machine and fridge stacked with beers and wine that were pretty cheap. The bathroom facilities are excellent.

Suite Hostel

The staff were brilliant. They not only told us the best places to go but came out with us too. The facilities, especially the common room and kitchen, were awesome. The hostel had a really good vibe, was relaxed but good for a party too. We have friends who have stayed at Suite Hostel at different times in the past few years and from what we hear the Hostel has maintained its quality for quite a while.

This hostel is in an excellent location in the centre of the old town. The owners (who live upstairs) were extremely helpful with everything from organising our hostel in Mostar and Belgrade and all of the travel to and from to telling us about the best places to eat and drink in Sarajevo. The Tunnel Tour was really informattive and a good day out. The common room and kitchen are also homely and well stocked.

Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of winter and during renovations so our opinion is probably affected by that. The staff were helpful enough but the place seemed a bit like a hospital - really quiet and dark.

Jazz Hostel & Apartments

Jani, the host, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet and was really helpful with everything. The hostel itself was really nice, we stayed in the main building which I would recommend as there is easy access to the kitchen and common area. The location was a little bit out of the main area but that didn't really matter as it was only 5 minutes walk to the lake anyway.

Good hostel in a good location about 5 minutes walk from the main part of town. The staff were helpful and always around. The common room area downstairs was a really good place to relax and meet people and the kitchen upstairs was well stocked with all you need.
