Caye Caulker, Belize

The owner is lovely and has great vision. She's very welcoming and sorted things we asked for. We stayed in the studio which was great to save money on breakfast etc but didn't want to cook dinner there as no outside space and there's a bit of cat smell when the door is open. Its away from most other hotels/restaurants but the island is tiny. The owner is very focused on the sanctuary with rooms secondary, as income to feed the cats. Fine but needs to focus a little more on the rooms

As previously mentioned, we value the review of each of our customers because this allows us to improve on our accommodations but again travelers need to do their research before booking a room at any place not just book and later comment on things that are expected. i.e what does one expect if they visit a zoo with many animals?

La Cigana

Tulum, Mexico

We booked into the 6 bed dorm which was decent, spacious. It was sold as 6 bed ensuite but this is misleading as another double room also shares the bathroom so actually up to 8 people share the only bathroom. Meant a lot of waiting around in the morning and an additional 2 people walking through the dorm to use the bathroom. Bathroom was not clean at all, we arrived mid afternoon and was already dirty, it wasn't cleaned during our stay.

Hotel Marcianito

Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Good sized room, very clean, very safe, room has TV, safety deposit box Staff very helpful Good location, pretty much in the middle of all main bars / restaurants. Is noisy at night but music stops promptly at 1am. It's a party island so you have to expect this unless you're willing to pony up for a hotel on the beach! Overall, fantastic value for money on Isla Mujeres

Puerta Vieja Hostel

San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico

Excellent hostel, really enjoyed our time here and wish we could stay longer. V clean, v comfortable beds. Given breakfast after we checked in early from the night bus. Bonus. Disappointed that temazcal wasn't up and running.

Hostal Pochon

Oaxaca, Mexico

Room good size and computer plus TV in room was a bonus. Breakfast pretty good. Shared bathroom facilities are very small. No room to get dry/changed. Not ideal having to walk through communal area from ladies downstairs! Rooms & dorms around a central courtyard both up and downstairs meant the 4am ers couldn't help by waking most people up. Not sure how this can be rectified. Atmosphere on 2nd morning much better than first after departure of group of young guys who seemed to dominate the place

Hostel Monte Cassino

Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Felt very welcomed. Room was very clean if a little small. Pleasant place to stay but the noise from nearby nightclub was a bit loud! Well located for main Swimmimg beach and one of main strips of bars etc. food in restaurant was excellent but would be great of kitchen facilities could be provided, or breakfast. Generally liked this place and the welcoming Italian owners

El Rincon del Viajero

Zihuatanejo, Mexico

It's a haven of tranquil. A short walk from the main town and would recommend getting a bus to La Ropa beach or ask for directions to La Saladita. The owner, Maili makes amazing cocktails and smoothies. Showers are fine, water isn't hot, but not cold either and actually perfect temperature given the heat and humidity. Very clean, though it's rustic so maybe doesn't come across that way, didn't see a single bug in 7 nights!

Tequila Sunset Hostal

Morelia, Mexico

Great location, walking distance to main areas. Quiet from street noise. Lots of communal areas to relax in. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good kitchen facilities. Highly recommend.

Hostel Amigo

Mexico City, Mexico

Well located in the Old Town and really friendly helpful staff. Layout not great on first floor having to walk through the communal areas to get to the bathrooms, not ideal with people up and about at literally all hours!

Chill Backpackers

Brisbane, Australia

Average hostel but well located near main train and bus station. Staff really helpful. Bathrooms and bedroom very cramped. Not much room to get dressed in cubicle after showering and as bathrooms unisex this want ideal! Quiet at night though was a bonus.
