Venice Beach Hostel

Los Angeles, USA

like all the best hostels, a bit shabby and can smoke in the common rooms which i thought was going to be disgusting but was actually fine. lots of plants and books. two private bathrooms in my 16bed dorm. kitchen is a little run down but has everything you need. free dinner is great, saved money but the breakfast is just waffles you make yourself, would be nice to have some bread at least! only old computers i didnt try but didnt look up to much, and bad wifi connection. right on beach

Posada Ganesha

San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico

Nice place, staff didn't speak English so weren't very helpful. Good security, gate licked at night but you might have trouble getting in if you arrive late. Rooms lead off of courtyard, very charming but freezing cold at night although they give you blankets. Only two bathrooms which you have to cross the courtyard to get to, would be fine in summer but to cold in winter. Charming place I only stayed one night so didn't get to avail of free yoga classes.
