The stay was very pleasant. All the employees were very nice and helpful in recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The quick turnaround on the broken a/c in one of rooms was also very appreciated. The only thing that caused slight unpleasantness was that there were a lot of flies in our room for the first night and a couple in the room for our second night (our rooms were changed between the days). It is the middle of summer though, so it is understandable.

It was a complete delight to stay at this hotel. The breakfasts were delicious and filling (and worth the extra charge). The room was a good deal for a 2 room private in such an expensive country. The workers were so friendly and helpful when it came to our many questions. Having our own bathtub was particularly nice after walking around all day during the wintertime. The curfew definitely made it a little trickier to explore Osaka's nightlife, but I enjoyed the quiet and safety that it provided
A pleasant traditional Japanese home open to guests, run by the family that you would hardly even notice lives there. The major drawbacks were that it was very cold indoors (as I expect all traditional Japanese homes to be like in the winter) even with a heater in our room and it is a bit tricky to find the place, especially with the directions and address provided in the hostelworld email. There is a small sign viewable from the main road w/ the ministop if you can spot it.
The cabin style dorm bunks were quite comfortable and the individual locking doors were very nice. How loud it was depended a lot on the other guests and whether or not they decided to jump off of their top bunks rather than climb down their ladders. Overall though it was very quiet and a great atmosphere.
