Amazingly beautiful backyard that the little rooms are set in. You can have breakfast on your patio which is also quite nice. The rooms themselves were small and basic, but the washroom was pretty gross (tiles were all stained and looked rundown). Location is good, next to the monkey forest. BEWARE: I had to have my trip cut short because I was bitten by monkey in the forest (I had no food). Stay far away from them if you go there! Another lady I saw at the clinic had a monkey jump on her head

I don't know why this hostel is so highly rated, it's the worst one I've stayed in while backpacking in Asia. Staff is very nice and friendly, but that does not make up for the gross bathrooms, crappy breakfast (fake Nutella and white bread) and poor condition of the rooms. I had a bed right by the AC unit which blasted frigid air on me all night long and they only give a sheet as a blanket. The lockers under our beds were also both broken. There's probably a better place to stay in Singapore..,

15 minute walk into town. Fantastic omelettes in the morning and great coffee! The bicycles aren't free to rent and the staff is a bit curt with you (I'm also not sure about some of their recommendations like tailors). The beach is NOT a 1km walk away (as indicated on their map), it is closer to an hour by foot so rent a bike/motorbike to get there. Decent rooms though we had staff barge in on us at 930AM (wasn't awake yet). Good location though and pretty clean

Free breakfast, which was awesome. Good location, walking distance to all attractions. Staff were extremely friendly but charged us at the end for some minibar items we never used (only 10000 dong). The room is also available as soon as it is ready, so we got to check in from our overnight train at 9am which was an awesome bonus! Air conditioner is a bit leaky but stops once you turn it off for a bit

This place is an absolute delight to stay in! - amazingly friendly and genuinely helpful staff - beautiful hostel in a teak-style that is kept extremely clean - breakfast available (110 baht) with an amazing Thai milk tea! - staff can help you book tours to nearby attractions - location within walking distance of a few major sites (wat pho, grand palace) - Internet that works right in your room! No negatives, we loved it (travelling for 2.5 months)

Do Step Inn

It's a big hostel located right next to a park. The downstairs is pretty boisterous so if you're looking to meet with others, it's a good place to go. The location of the hostel is also Great within the city. The only issue we had is that there was no AC or fans, and the room got so beastly hot at night it was hard to sleep (and everyone's chocolate melted)

We slept in the 10 bed dorm. It smelled weird but there were fans placed in there at night which made it cooler. Bathrooms were big and clean but had no hand soap. Also for some reason, I kept seeing males using the women's washroom including showering (weird). Good location, about 20 min walk from train station and major sites

Hostel Villa Angelina Old Town

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Excellent location within the walls of the old city. The staff were incredibly nice, very friendly and helpful. They let us keep our bags until 9 pm on our checkout day with no fuss at all. The rooms are pretty small, so it's a little crowded in there when it fills up. The shower has a pretty small tank so it might run out of hot water if it's a peak usage time. This hostel is great for an old town stay (although food prices are a lot more expensive than staying in the nearby lapad)

Good things: - wifi available throughout the room - place was pretty clean, didn't use the kitchen however - good location Bad things: - shower leaked water all over the bathroom - The 'text a code' thing didn't really work: They gave me an access number to call, but it was a 'not in service number'. However, I did call the staff and they got me a code within a few minutes that worked for the rest of the stay. - parking only in garage by train station (125 NOK/day) - no lockers for stuff

No place to lock belongings in room. The location was pretty good (5 min walk to downtown). You have to pay for your own sheets, but 50 NOK is practically free for Norway. The lobby had some unsavoury characters who kept creeping out some of the other guets.

Very clean hostel. Kitchen is new and clean and there are many bathrooms/showers. 2 of the bathrooms/showers smelled weird but the other ones were completely fine. You can choose your own bunk in the dorms, which is kind of sweet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good value for the money. It's about a 20 minute walk from the centre, and it's got a grocery store quite close by (although an ATM/bank is not very close).

Thank yopu for the nice review. There is an ATM 100 meters from the Hostel but it is open 7-22, the one open all night is a bit further away. the Staff

Great location, however bathrooms/bedrooms were a little grungy. The lockers were pretty crappy, they were literally highschool-sized lockers outside of the room, which you couldn't really fit a carry-on into. The beds were individual ones (not bunk), so that was pretty different but the sheets were pretty cheap. For a cheap stay next to Cologne's Domo, I'd recommend this, but expect no frills.

Brussels Hostel Grand Place

Super clean rooms and bathrooms. It's been recently renovated and you can tell! They're putting an elevator in too which should help with the stairs. Brand new kitchen with dishwasher (though we didn't use it). Great location, right by the biggest tourist attractions in Brussels. Check in was like a 20 minute walk from hostel, but nothing too crazy. It's reasonably close (walking distance) of both of the Brussels train stations. Rooms had big lockers and came with towels. Best hostel so far!

St Christopher's Village

Friendly staff but super dirty bathrooms and grungy rooms. The bar was nice except when a large bouncer would come at 11 and tell you to get out and go home (apparently its closing time). We were harassed by the bouncers once when bringing food in even though we always saw people bringing outside pizza to the bar. I don't really see why the bouncers have to be patrolling this small bar, people just want to chi and have a good time. I liked the lock cages under the bed to put your stuff into

Hey Thanks for leaving the review, we close at 2am, so the door security only ask people to leave early if they have had too much to drink! Because we serve great food in our bar, people are not allowed to bring in their own food, but our hostel guests are more than welcome to eat in the chill-out room in the hostel. We have door security for the safety of staff and guests a like as we are a bar that's open to the public. Thanks again for the review, we hope to see you again St Chris Team
