I was having a superb time until a British-descendant-Australian guest decided to bust out racial Aboriginal slurr ....totally ruined the rest of my stay and dampened my spirit. The hostel itself is flawless. If you have trouble finding the place just ask the Justin who works at the well-signed Castle1004 Pub/Cafe and he'll happily show you which door to go through so no dramas there. Kitchen facilities are great, balcony is huge, supermarket is close (& cheap)! Definitely recommend this hostel.
The view from the 4bed dorm was superb! Unfortunately the guy who checked me in played that silly game where he pretended he had no idea about the 10% booking fee but after some to-and-fro he gave me 5% off then very sarcastically thanked me and wished me a wonderful stay. The shared bathroom did not have hot water and the toilet & shower relied on natural sunlight which I discovered after returning late from partying :-/ I wouldn't recommend the dorm instead I recommend: BACKPACKERS HOSTEL.
Fantastic guesthouse with a huge spacious dormitory room. Thanks for the vegemite!
Neat little hotel with dormitory rooms. Pamukkale is tiny making everything within walking distance. Most people stay only for one night but I stayed for two nights which I recommend because the locals are just lovely to speak with.
Nothing to fault. Superb hostel. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful.
If you visit Göreme/Kapadokya you should definitely stay at Nirvana. Best dorm room I've ever stayed in hands down, try to get a bed in the carved out rock. The Manager, Yasin, is just wonderful. Breakfast is plentiful.
Basic hostel in a superb location. Staff are very laid-back and friendly.
I loved this hostel. Nina is the best host. Her homemade apricot jam is a DELICIOUS breakfast treat! 5mins from Republic Square. You should definitely stay here!!
cheapest hostel in odessa so don't expect anything fancy. the location is unbeatable: supermarket within 5mins walk, railway station about 35min walk, and a variety of beaches to choose from all within walking distance. staff speak perfect english. if you're sensitive to mess/hygiene reconsider staying here as the hostel really needs a complete cleaning overhaul. i recommend this hostel and i'd stay here again.
I constantly felt reminded not to get too comfortable. Owner is extremely money-hungry which you will see after the first two seconds of meeting her especially when she gives you the speech of not booking via a hostel booking site: don't be fooled we need sites like these in order to protect us!! Aside from these two points the hostel is fantastic, I would definitely recommend this hostel to other travelers.
Perfect hostel everything u need. Staff were overbearing (couldn't sneeze without them asking if I was alright) but aside from that absolutely perfect most definitely one of the greatest showers I've had in a very long time felt like I was in a hotel not a hostel. Despite advertising as not including b/f they provide crappy cereal iif you're hungary. Most pubs in Cluj stop allowing foreigners in after a certain time and therefore you're forced to go to 24h pub Jinas. Romanian bakeries:.Mmmmmm!!
How many hostels have you stayed in that have three large common rooms?! Great hostel.
The full buffet breakfast provided each morning is not all-inclusive and you will be charged an extra €5 per day if you have more than cereal and coffee, this was not relayed clearly to us and we felt a little cheated having to fork out the extra cash hence my reduced rating for "Value for money". Nevertheless this is a great place to stay for AquaCity fun and mountain fun though I found Poprad city a little boring.
The massive Australian flag and New Zealand flag on display is largely inappropriate and off-putting especially as the Slovakian flag was nowhere in sight. This hostel was dominated by Australians while I was there but aside from that it is a wicked hostel. Gorgeous house with a nice front porch, hammock, shops/pub closeby and two very very very beautiful doggies who love to be pat :-D ! Just so you're prepared, the church bells dong loudly for two minutes every morning at 6am.
I was sick with the common cold so I actually spent quite a lot of my time in this hostel. THE BAD: I did not like having the rubbish bin and clothes rack near my head while I slept as it felt a bit unhygienic. Very limited kitchen facilities: microwave, kettle and fridge. THE GOOD: Two supermarkets across the road open from 08.00 - 23.00 every day which is great. The location is good just 10min walk from train/bus station. Locals live here too which is great. Staff speak English very well.
There is an extra 3 Litas charge for linen and towel which is something you'd expect in Scandanavia not the Baltics and people are allowed to use their sleeping bags in place of linen which is extremely unhygienic because the mattresses are very itchy (no bed bugs, just itchy from sleeping bag dirt). The hostel is located across the road from the main bus station which is handy. Friendly staff. I preferred Hostel Kubu to Klaipeda Hostel.
Happy Hour is sensational thank you. Fantastic staff. Comfy beds. Great location. Nightlife in Riga is just great, the Old Town love to party. Unfortunately this hostel was dominated by Australians whilst I was there who spent their time speaking about Australia and about how 'awesome' they are whilst stroking their own egos. A bit embarrassing for me being Australian myself particularly when other travelers asked what they were doing to which I was unable to explain :-/ Hostel = 100%
There is a kitchen/fridge but no cooking facilities which didn't bother me but good for other travellers to know. Overall great hostel. Vilen (staff) was excellent. Would stay here again.
The common room is so comfy and social. Hostel location is great, about a 15-20min walk to the main square and a cheap food/grog market just 5mins away. It would be advantageous if you spoke Russian as the locals are not particularly interested in speaking English with you which is fair enough I suppose. I would stay here again.
Facilities were a bit bad and shower drains need unblocking but the hostel is located on a lively strip outside the city center which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful though unable to communicate in English. You can take the metro to the city for RUB 28 or use your feet and get there within the hour. A lady cleans the rooms every day.
I gave Average ratings for "Atmosphere" and "Value For Money" I believe this is because everyone including myself was bummed by how expensive this city is. After spending your daily budget on sleeping there's very little money left for enjoyment. The hostel itself was good though the kitchen facilities were great and there are nice drinking holes within walking distance if you're willing to splash your cash but there is a supermarket directly next door.
Nice hostel in a small and cute little city. Everything in walking distance.
The hostel is just beautiful particularly the lobby area after you pass reception felt more like a fancy hotel. Good location, a short walk to Sol Square. It's always great when a hostel has a bar and even better when the bar subscribes to happy hour!! Would def stay here again.
If you're visiting Prague you should stay at Plus Hostel. It may seem a little way out when you first arrive but trams/metro are excellent making it easy get about. Large open common room with loads of seating, rooms were huge, good heating, great pub closeby, breakfast was good value for money, staff were great - Caeser is a champ! Facebook should be banned from all hostels because it turns travellers in to social retards. Get stuck in to Gambrinus which, in my opinion, is Czech's finest beer.
The water from the bathroom sink in the dorm-room located on the ground floor near reception is contaminated and smells like sewerage coming from other rooms. I caught conjunctivitis when using this water to attend to my contact lenses. Great space atmosphere for pre-partying and socialising. Also very nice to have washing and drying facilities. The dorm rooms are quite squishy though so you're constantly climbing over other peoples luggage but for a party hostel I suppose this is alright.
Kitchen facilities are great but any food stored in the cupboard will be eaten within minutes but food stored in the refrigerator seemed to remain untouched. The water from the sink in the dorm-room located on the ground floor close to reception is contaminated and smells like sewerage from the other rooms. Please ask to switch to another room. Staff were fantastic. Good common room/kitchen space for socialising.
If you stay in Skopje, stay here!
Hostel is located in a superb spot of Camden, great for partying and nightlife. Staff are funny and friendly which is nice. For London, breakfast is decent (cereal, toast & spreads). The cleaners work their asses off to keep the hostel spotless. The water from the bathroom sink in the dorm-room located on the ground floor close to reception is contaminated and smells like sewerage. I caught conjunctivitis from using this water with my contact lenses....NASTY!!!!
Great location. Great staff. Best to use a map to find the hostel.
Fantastic hostel. Would stay here again.
Osama and Said do a fine job of managing the place & r both informative + helpful with Maintenance Mgr, Ehab, ensuring everything works. In the kitchen: Ahmed, Hany and Alaa serving up delicious meals around the clock. Cleaners Ali and Tahar not only keep the place spotless but also do the most impressive origami with your bath towels ranging from hearts to fish to swans. Tarek is the best bar manager/dj with smiling attendant Ahmed who both ensure that the party stays alive! Clarice from Oz.
great hostel. right on the beach. great staff. great food. very clean. this hostel is better for people travelling in groups. if you are travelling alone i would recommend staying in either Babia or Oasis which are both great hostels, also.
clean & fun hostel with great staff. would definitely stay there again!
Absolutely excellent hostel! The staff are fun, funny & helpful. This hostel is an ecclectic mix of a party hostel and a chillout hostel. There is something to do every night so if you feel like partying this place is right up your alley. 31 people (incl staff and guests) have "X Hostel" tattoos. Its clean, theres free b/fast & internet etc. If I werent so restricted on my travel plans, I wouldve stayed longer. If you are coming to Varna during the peak season: DEFINITELY STAY AT X HOSTEL!!!!!
Fantastic hostel. I would def stay here again and would def recommend this hostel to others. Monika and Peter are awesome.
Staff are excellent, helpful & friendly. The rooms/bathroom/kitchen are cleaned a few times PER DAY! Great location! The internet access on the computer in the lobby is slow but if you have your own computer, the Wi-Fi is very fast! Kitchen has good facilities to cook your meals. The tea/coffee/sugar is great because they also provide powdered cream as for milk! Salt/pepper also provided. I stayed here both times I was in Budapest, and I will definitely stay here again if I end up back in Budapest :)
Great hostel. Staff are very relaxed and nice.
