Excellent location! Just off the Royal Mile, it's practically in the heart of Edinburgh, & a 10-minute walk from the Edinburgh Waverly station--ideal to explore Edinburgh as well as take day trips out through Waverly. The rooms, dorms, & bathrooms were clean, tidy and spacious. Towels & soap are provided. You can keep your belongings safe by using your own lock on individual lockers. The bar downstairs is great, with very reasonably priced food. There is also a kitchen for the guests to use.

I stayed at one of 247's three-bed studio apartments with my parents. It was ideal for a family's short-duration stay. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and appliances for our perusal. The room was spacious and had a TV too. The bathroom was neat and tidy. Towels were provided, but soaps were not. The location was good--a little far from the closest underground stations, but the Brondesbury Park overground station was very close, and was decently connected to the underground services.

Arsenal Tavern Hostel

London, England
71%

The place was convenient location wise, with regard to the tube and the city. However, the room wasn't very clean. The dustbin had trash left behind by previous residents, which was also found on the floor under the beds. There was an unclean towel in the room. And there was no storage space. However, for a night or two, I was willing to overlook these things as it was the cheapest place offering an ensuite room, available on the same day of booking.

Belford Hostel

Edinburgh, Scotland

The twin (shared bathroom) room was small, but very cute, with pretty wallpaper and bed linen to liven it up. With an electric kettle and tea-coffee making ingredients, it was just what we needed. The bathroom was just a few steps away, spacious and very clean. While the security in entering the hostel (with a combination) was good, a locker in the room was missed. The fact that it was a converted church made the stay there very interesting, however, the location wasn't ideal at all.

Abercorn House Hostel

I stayed in a twin en-suite room at Abercorn House. It was neat, clean and offered all the basics. The linen and towels were changed on time. There was plenty of storage space as well as a mini fridge, which proved to be very useful. Access to a kitchen for basic heating and cooking was also useful. The bathroom was also neat, except that the sink would clog. What we missed was a locker or a cupboard that could be locked. The location was excellent as it very close to the Hammersmith station.

Aron Guest House

London, England

Aron Guest House is very homely, with decent facilities. The caretaker even told us we could use the kitchen and help ourselves to tea/coffee, which was on the house. Location wise, it's way off in the suburbs, so the commute to the city might be tiresome, but if you want to be close to the airport, Heathrow's underground stations aren't too many stops away. And it's just a five-minute walk from the South Ealing station. It's a clean quaint little place, ideal for a relaxed stay.

Keystone House Kings Cross

London, England
83%

Keystone House Kings Cross is all about its excellent location. Located in central London, it's in the heart of the city. A two-minute walk from the Kings Cross Station and Kings Cross St Pancras Underground station, this zone-1 accommodation is well connected even by bus routes. The staff is friendly, but can't offer much advice on seeing the city. Facilities like wi-fi and access to the bar/common areas are very limited and unfulfilling. But as a base, it's the best place you could stay in.

Budget Backpackers

Edinburgh, Scotland

Budget Backpackers was quite an experience. Apart from being conveniently located and being a decent place to come back and crash every night, the vibe in the property was upbeat and fun. The staff's initiatives in adding value to the trip, by way of activities like drinking games and a local pub-crawl, was commendable. Everyone was friendly and made us feel at home there. Any queries about the area or requests for local traveling tips were well entertained as well.
