Circus Hostel

One of those hostels that is so big it actually doesn't have as good of atmosphere, just lots of people coming and going. Really nice facilities, nice rooms. Bar downstairs is always crowded so you can meet people there. The walking tour they give brochures out for is one of the best I have ever done, highly recommended.

Nice hostel, good facilities, staff were really nice, but no atmosphere. There is a bar on the bottom floor of the building but no one from the hostel was there. The hostel doesn't organize any activities. The common room was almost always empty, even though they said the hostel was fully booked. I guess people just use the hostel as a place to crash. Location is pretty good but maybe a 15-20 walk to the old town sights.

Really nice room, quite big, nice big window. The location is pretty good, just a little outside of old town, close to river. You can walk to the centre of old town in about 15 minutes. Beds were quite comfy. Private entrance into the apartment block. Not a hostel though, so don't expect to meet anyone. Its just a nice place to have a private room. There are plenty of pub crawls/boat parties, all of which can be found, starting at 8:30pm, by the astrological clock in old town square. Cant miss.

Probably the biggest hostel I have ever seen, so you lose a bit of the intimacy/personality of a smaller place, kind of just people coming and going. They do have a decent bar, although in August with no air-con it was unreasonably hot. Decent location, reasonable walking distance to the major attractions. They put on a good walking tour, recommended.

Nice hostel, good location, nice staff, really nice garden bar in the back and basement bar for late at night, good place to meet your fellow travelers. Really enjoyed my stay here.

Nice place to stay, especially the private rooms. But without aircon they are insanely hot (in August anyway). Security is better than I have ever seen, multiple different key coded doors. Kind of a chill bar and outdoor patio area in the centre. Good location as well.

Maju Jaya Hostel

This hostel is literally in the middle of nowhere, basically in a commercial/industrial area, and no atmosphere at all. Whatever you do, don't use Apple maps to find it either because it will send you 5km in the wrong direction. I would never stay here again. I stayed at a much better hostel in town for about the same price on a separate leg of my trip.

We strongly disagree with the words written. It is not our responsibility that you had difficult day traveling and wrong address on the map that makes you go wrong direction. It is not fair that you now express your anger on our rating. Jagor - owner

The facilities are pronominal, possibly the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at in that regard, but zero atmosphere. This is just a place to sleep.

Awesome, modern hostel. Great location, good atmosphere, organized day trips, pub crawls, good bar and restaurant in the hostel, really nice bunk beds with a nice side board for extra privacy, plenty of showers and toilets. Only complaint would be the price, but everything in Croatia is expensive.

Booked a private room for less then some other hostel's were charging for dorms. The room was huge and had my own semi-private entrance - there was only ever one or two guests on my floor, so it was like renting a whole apartment for a cheap price! What you give up in atmosphere you get back in value for money. Location is very central, but about a 15 minute walk to the main tourist pedestrian street and republic square, where all the tours leave from. Belgrade was much bigger than I expected!

Not sure how to review this hostel because when I showed up they had given my bed to someone else! I booked on this website and said I expected to arrive there at 20:00, but after a 7.5 hour Journey, I ended up getting there at 20:20, and they didn't have my bed any more. The staff did call around and find me another hostel, but still.

So much fun its ridiculous. Located between Golden Sands (party area) and Varna City (a quick cheap bus ride away), both with beaches, also has two beaches walking distance. The hostel is big and surrounded by gardens. Super chill atmosphere to laze about and pre-drink before the heavy partying to come. The staff are wicked fun, and put on BBQs, home made pizza parties, roasted lambs. At night its foam parties, beach parties, massive pub crawls or head to Varna. I barely survived 4 nights here!

Great place to stay. 2 minute walk from the beach. All private rooms as far as I can tell, really good price too. The beds are comfortable and you have your own bathroom/shower. The owner rocks. Pretty quiet at night so its great for crashing after a long night drinking on the beach. Vama Veche is by far my favorite spot in Romania.
