Smart Hyde Park Inn

I have stayed here before so I knew exactly what to expect. Rooms are small and cramped with space for a lot of beds and not much more. Its cheap and perfect location if staying in London and you just need a bed to crash in at night.

The initial stairs are steep!! But after that everything is okay, you have to pay for locks to go on the lockers (my normal travel lock didn't seem to lock them properly) . Very good location, though all the powerpoints were next to each other by the door which sucked because the person checking out when we came in said they had stuff stolen the night before and we didn't want to risk using it overnight.

One of the best hostels we had stayed in, we ended up staying longer than we originally planned. Plenty of bathrooms and great wifi. Free barcrawl every night as well, they give you about 5 different maps for everything you could possibly need at check in, including night buses to get home and discount food nearby.

It was across the street from the vatican museum so it was very easy to find. However there is no staff, and they were supposed to meet us at a specific time to give us the room, however nobody was there when we arrived. The phone numbers went through to voicemail and so a neighbour let us into the building and we chose our own room. Somebody came later on in the evening to collect money informally and give breakfast but only for the first day. We never saw any staff ever again. Wifi didnt work!

The dorms weren't lockable so you share your belongings with the entire hostel. Also there are only 2 bathrooms between 40 people which is not enough. The free sangria nights were awesome and the staff take you out to a decent enough bar crawl. This hostel is definitely a party hostel and your experience will depend highly on the other people you stay with. The beds are bunkbeds but theres no ladder to get to the top on any bed, so prepare to challenge yourself when you return at night.

Vienna Hotel

The staff didn't feel like they wanted to be there, though they were helpful in providing directions. The hotel seemed to be mostly populated by asians that lived there working in the restaurant below. It was a nice enough room though a '4 bed' room was actually 2 doubles. Very close to the rail station to get into downtown venice though!

Amazing place to stay! The hostel felt like home, but even better. The staff were friendly and hung out in the common room and I had some nice chats with them. There is a pool table down stairs that was fun too. Great breakfast provided and plenty of working wifi to connect to!

Excellent hostel right next to a metro stop and a lot of places to eat. Walking distance from the city center and very cool interior decoration. Staff were friendly and awesome, only downside was the wifi dropped out a bit and the (paid) laundry wasn't very good at drying (though they warn you before hand).

This hostel was absolutely amazing in terms of quality. It felt like a hotel for under 10 euro. The only improvement would be to lock the luggage storage room.
