The Yellow

Rome, Italy

AWESOME hostel. Probably the best-known and biggest "party hostel" in Rome. Awesome staff, awesome bar downstairs with cheap drinks that stays open LATE (no need to go elsewhere, Rome's nightlife is filled with creepy Italian guys). Great restaurant right across the street, metro and bus stations within short walking distance; close to the Colosseum and Forum but you will need to take public transport to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, or Castel Sant'Angelo.

Split Guesthouse & Hostel

Split, Croatia

You will not find a more welcoming host than Josko at Split Guesthouse and Hostel. He's not in it to make any sort of large profit, he just seems to genuinely care about meeting people and making them feel welcome. He gives you a very thorough breakdown, as well as free vodka. Very conveniently located, small and personal but with blazing fast wifi and TV. He even found a place for my friend to stay (w/a neighbor down the street). Thanks Josko! -Zach, Jonathan, and Colton from Texas

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

Truly an awesome place....this is indeed a PARTY hostel, and the bar downstairs is one of the best places to drink in the entire city. Multiple people passed out in the lobby our first night there, which was fine with us. No wifi in the rooms whatsoever (they do this on purpose to increase social interaction). Great common areas downstairs including an atrium, good laundry machines. One of the best hostels I've stayed at, and the only place I will stay in Munchen.

Prague Square Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

This hostel was highly rated, but the lack of any laundry, weird layout, weird city, weird people definitely bring it down. Staff was helpful but not super welcoming. Bathroom situation is pretty good and the location is excellent as its right off the city square; if you're a girl look out for all those creepy Prague alleyways though. Atmosphere was meh. Overall we should have stayed at Madness.

EXCELLENT hostel, located right off the huge city square in Krakow (my favorite city in the world). They have vodka tasting night, sangria night, etc. Also have lots of great recommendations, complimentary computers, huge clean rooms with good beds. Bathrooms are very good. Only negative is having to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to it drunk as hell each night (actually, being drunk makes it more bearable). Thanks to the entire staff as well! -Zach, Jonathan, and Colton from Texas

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel

Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is exorbitantly expensive, but this hostel is one of the best parts of it. The biggest negative to this hostel is that there were no lockers for us to use, because I think they put us in one of their extra rooms that they convert into a dorm during busy season. Other than that it was great though, the bar downstairs is especially good and as cheap as you can get in Copenhagen. Very helpful (and beautiful) staff, they can show you where the "dodgy bars" are (meat packing district)!

The only thing bringing this hostel down is the location (but conveniently located in between two Metro stations) and the fact that the citizens of Paris absolutely suck. The hostel is huge and recently redone, bathrooms have multiple stalls/showers, wifi is spotty in some rooms, but this has the indirect result of sending you straight to their bar/lounge. No need to drink elsewhere, they have the best deals (bottle of good wine for 8 euro, multiple happy hour specials).

Astor Hyde Park

London, England

Possibly the best location of any hostel in London....just a couple short blocks to the Tube station, as well as the Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, etc. Facility is beautiful, located in a very upscale area, recently redone, and near many foreign embassies. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the common area is very conducive to making friends as well. Make sure you rent bikes from a Barclays station and then ride down the road to see all London's most famous sites!

Astor Queensway

London, England

Awesome location close to Hyde Park, and staff was great, especially Jon who told us how to get around and recommended the Churchill Arms. Ultimately if you can you should stay at Astor's other hostel nearby, the Astor Hyde Park, as the facilities and social aspect are better there.

Parthenon Hostel

Chicago, USA

Stayed for one night. Security was good, they give you a key to the outside door plus a room key. Everything was pretty clean, the hot water took over 5 mins to heat up during my winter stay. The walls are also pretty thin so bring ear plugs. Other than that you can't beat the location or the price. I was here on business but there didn't seem to be much of a party atmosphere if you're looking for that
