Charming and clean hostel. Friendly owners and staff. Location is good though - attraction sites in the old city are just a stone's throw away. Beds were comfy though the sheets are slightly worn. Floorboards can get creaky and hence noisy.

Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere if you wanna party and hang out. Rooms were spacious too. Only gripe was that it was really warm in the room with only 1 fan to share.
Loved the breakfast but otherwise, staff were not very friendly. My door card stopped working EVERY SINGLE NIGHT I stayed in. It was really annoying. Lots of large student groups on school trips around if that is what you fancy. My room smelt really bad everyday, ventilation was poor, and it was dark.
Friendly staff! Nice common areas to chill at. Location was great too.
Ended up cancelled my booking in the end. The cancellation process was smooth however.
Location was close to the train station, but a little far away from the city centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great and huge common spaces. It's a party hostel if that's what you're looking for.
Thought this hostel would be promising; ended up I was wrong. Some organizational issues when I checked in. Got offered a bed that was dirty and had tampons on it. Staff seemed more interested in organizing pub crawls than running the hostel properly. Also got my deposit issued wrongly when I checked out and it took a lot hassle to get it back. Very frustrating.
Decent hostel with a nice pub and breakfast, and lots of movie DVDs for use in the common room. Toilets were pretty much always dirty though, and fridges in the kitchen were far too small for the number of people in the hostel. When the bar closes, only available common space was basically a really tiny room in the basement.
Close to Bayswater station. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Otherwise, rooms were very cramped, dirty, smelly and unhygenic. Rooms and toilets were pretty much a dump. Have to pay extra for lockers too. Glad to be gone after a day. Unimaginable that they won best hostel in 2002.
Very jovial and friendly owner! Location was great too if you want to be near the Vatican. Had a good stay here!
Located in Atrani, which is much quieter and 'authentic' place as compared to nearby Amalfi. The piazza at the front of the hostel was an absolute charm at night when all the locals were out. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great! Only gripe would be that the room was a little dark and dingy, and wifi use was limited to the reception area which was closed quite often.
Very big, clean, and charming. Friendly staff too. Only gripe was that you had to pay for wifi use - unimaginable of hostels in this day and age.
Nice big room with a wonderful view overlooking the castle. Owner was friendly too. Really nice rooftop terrace which you could use. The district the hostel was in was charming too and vibrant. Breakfast was a little sad though, and the (lack of) cooking equipment/utensils that we could use.
Place felt very homely, and its located in an authentic non-touristy part of town - if that's what you're looking for! Owner was very nice and friendly too. Pretty spacious room and common space too.
Very good hostel, and located very near to the port! Staff were always friendly and helpful, even helping us to print our flight tickets for free. Rooms were nice and spacious. Hostel looks very nice as a whole.
Not exactly the most value for money, but it seems like it's hard to get a cheap or affordable hostel/hotel in Montpellier. Staff upgraded our room to a larger one for free, which was great! Really really spacious room, and lots of pillows for each person.
Nice hostel with lots of facilities like dart board, foosball table, punching bag etc. Has a nice outdoor common area too. Staff was helpful and friendly, and rooms clean and pretty spacious.
Good location. Froze through the night in the room though; the radiator wasn't turned on. Value for money however!
Room was slightly small, and the bed was too (for two person). But otherwise, helpful staff/owner and great location.
Small hotel, with a nice old world charm. Not the closest to the city centre but it's situated in a residential area (if that's what you're looking for), but pretty good value for money for Paris.
Location was decent, but the hostel was really dirty and filled with pretty dodgy people. Have to pay for almost everything else apart from your room if you need them - like wifi, lockers etc. From my observations of the staff, they seemed unconcerned about their occupants' welfare, and were rude even. This place is pretty much a royal dump.
Really helpful and friendly staff, the blonde girl (didn't catch her name, sadly) was really nice! Great free breakfast too, and I've never had a staff to do the dishes for me during breakfast in a hostel (so awesome). Excellent location. Rooms were really spacious too. Only concern was that the lockers didn't feel secure at all; it could easily be broken into if someone really wants to do it.
Felt really luxurious and beautiful for a hostel. Nice rooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place.
Really nice and friendly staff! It's a nice quiet hostel that feels like home. Location isn't the greatest however, and the kitchen could do with more stoves.
Could just be one of the best hostel I've stayed in. Really friendly and helpful staff, beautiful lounge and dining area that overlooks the river and old city, nice large rooms, AMAZING free breakfast, and plenty of showers! Location is superb too. Highly recommend this hostel for this price (please don't raise it after this awesome review haha).
A stay at this place is a refreshing break away from the usual hostels. It's a charming place here, suitable for families, children, and people looking for a quiet break. The place is clean, the lounges are nice and huge, and so is the kitchen. Would've been great if the washing machine was actually working while I was there. One thing though - I find it quite absurd having to pay so much for wi-fi usage in a hostel; paying for wi-fi use is unacceptable at a hostel in today's day and age.
Wi-fi doesn't work most of the time, heater for the showers doesn't work half of the time, and the locks in almost all of the toilets and showers don't work or are faulty (it doesn't take that much effort to fix them, right?). Toilets were pretty dirty all of the time. Reception didn't open on time in the morning. I'm not a fussy backpacker, but this hostel takes the cake.
Simple new hostel. It's nice and clean inside, though it's pretty simple and no-frills. The toilets and showers however are pretty good. Particularly liked the free tea and coffee available too, and the free breakfast (which I presumed just got started as I arrived). Lockers didn't seem the most sturdiest however. And it would be great if the staff could open the doors more promptly when I rang from the intercom; it usually took a couple of times before someone finally opened the main door.
Best hostel I've stayed in hands down. Huge and very pretty social areas with pool tables and board games, friendly staff, spacious rooms with lockers, and it was in a pretty good location! It's definitely value for money too. Love the free bar crawl organized by the hostel on Thursdays! Definitely would recommend this hostel.
2nd time in this hostel, nothing much has changed but things might in fact have gone worse. Some of the staff were more interested in working at the bar rather than helping out people staying at the hostel. Toilets were dirty at times, and the showers were horrible. The owner should try the shower for himself/herself - the heater works poorly, it alternates so frequently between scalding hot water and cold water (especially the toilet in the middle floor), and the water just stops suddenly.
