Glen Nevis Youth Hostel

Good kitchen and decent sized rooms. Perfect for a group of friends looking to ski in Ben Nevis. We were unlucky because the weather was bad and Nevis range shut but staff were very friendly and helped us transfer our booking to another SYHA hostel in Braemar so we could ski in Glenshee instead. On another note there is no free wifi. You have to pay 1pound for every 20mins which I personally think is extortionate

I very cheap and good value for money hostel. Loads of hangout space and helpful staff. Well situated just off the beach and great breakfast - though you have to pay for it. They also have a small outdoor kitchen for cooking simple meals and hot showers. recommended

Traveller's Place Hostel

A decent hostel in itself but which seems to attract the strangest of guests. Staff were friendly and provided us with expert recommendations on where to eat, shop and what to do. However the hostel was pretty dead and had no atmosphere. No hot water in showers! If ur travelling on a really tight budget and just want a place to crash 4 the night then its ok but for the younger travellers looking to meet people and have a bit of fun i wud recmd spending a little more and staying closr 2 centre

Good hostel. Nice communal area that allows you to meet, drink with other guests. Excellent kitchen. Only real downside was the showers. They are in urgent need of an upgrade. Hot water if u r lucky, often just a trickle, bit of a ball ache when its cold outside. Otherwise staff were helpful and friendly. Its very clean and the dorms are top notch. Location is great, nearby supermarkets, 5 mins from santa fe avenue for transport links and 10 min walk to main bar area in palermo
