An absolute dream of a hostel. I paid a few extra dollars for deluxe room and had a queen bed which was so comfortable. Wifi came with hostel price and worked well in the room. Brrakfast included delicious croissants and various juices along with cereal and toast. A great area for socializing and a nice bar added to the great ambience. Angela in the bar was quite the drinkmaster and prices weree quite reasonable. One of the best hostels in the past six months of travel.
Security? The door had a lock, but the key given to me wouldn't work. Replacement key - would work once in a while. Didn't matter as someone showed me you could just push the door real hard and fast, and it would open. Nowhere for hostelers to hang out and meet others. No breakfast. Room was a bed and a wall-mounted TV, and no room for anything else. Shower would only provide decent pressure if it was cold water. Great location though, but would not recommend this place at all.
Front door key given to me rarely would work in stubborn lock. But no worries - someone showed me that the door can be opened with a quick hard shove. i had my own room which was nice but it was very tiny - just the bed and a foot perimeter around two sides of bed. Nice TV which was an added touch but with just one channel having english, it was worthless.
After six months of travelling and hostelling in Europe and Asia, I can honestly say that Agora Hostel has the best showers and best free breakfast out there. Spacious showers with awesome pressure. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, various cereals, delicious bread, meats, eggs and other stuff - along with several different types of juice and coffee. AND the hostel has a rooftop terrace that provides a beautiful view of the nearby blue mosque. Stay here - you will love it!
