Lovely hostel with an old industrial character as Manchester represents it. Nevertheless, the hostel urgently needs improvement in heating and isolation. The windows in our room and in the shower room weren't airtight so there was a constant draught. The common room downstairs was also cold.

Thanks for your review and comments!! Here in Manchester (and all over the UK) we are expecting a ridiculously cold spring..... While we did amend our heating to cope with this unexpected weather, we also have extra heaters at the reception, which we use during winter, so just come and see us if you need anything!! Glad you liked our hostel, and hope to see you again- maybe during a warmer spell!! Kind regards, Hatters Manchester!

One of the guys at the reception was very unfriendly, arrogant and moody, but the breakfast team was nice and diligent providing enough food and cleanliness in the breakfast room. The breakfast was okay. I stayed in a six-bed room which was so small that not more than two persons could be in the room in the same time. The mattresses are old and thus saggy and the bunk beds desperately need to get repaired or replaced!!! The ceiling in one of the showers was fully covered with mould!
