Anker Hostel

Oslo, Norway
54%

Anker is in a pretty rough area of Oslo there's a lot of homeless people on the walk from the train station. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm and thank god it was only 1 night! The room was very hot and stuffy and smelly as the window would only open a few inches and there was a kitchen in the room making it even worst! There are no lookers in the rooms! The common area is quite good!

Strange place it's more like a share house than a hostel. It's all very secretive but if your trying to move to london to start a new life it's not a bad option for a week or two till you find a better place to stay.

QE is on top of a quiet pub in the back streets. The pub is the common area which isn't to bad a few football fans come in to watch the games on the weekend but apart from that the pub is manly used by the guests of QE. It's about 10min walk from Fulham Broadway station which is nice the beds are a bit sqeeky but it's it's ok.

Florida Hostel & Hotel

Sorrento, Italy

Florida is a hotel with some rooms that have been converted into dorms. The pool is awsome on a hot day. A bit of a walk from Sorrento but I would recommend this place as it's away from the very busy centre of Sorrento.

Hostel Brikette

Positano, Italy
71%

Brikette has an amazing view from the common area outdoor deck. The problem with that is when it rains there is nowhere to have breakfast. It's close to the bus stop which is good. But there's close to 1000 steps down to the beach then the climb back up. There is fingerprint locks on the doors. They should have invested in better bunk beds as they are old and plastic on matress is terrible 8 people moving around on plastic is loud and very hot in rooms aswell. I would not recommend staying here.

Its true to say that we struggle if it rains in September, which it very rarely does. Later on in the season, when it rains more often, we do have more space, so this issue does not exist. We are also looking into making use of some currently unused space, which would also address this issue. We do need to put covers on the mattresses, as its the most effective way of preventing bed bugs. All the best for your future travels.

A Scalinatella

Amalfi, Italy
71%

The rooms and facilities are basic, but the location is excellent. Short walk from bus stop and more importantly the beach. For this reason we spent hardly any time in the room anyway, so it is perfect if you want somewhere to sleep in a fantastic small town. Just around the corner from Amalfi, Atrani is quieter and less touristy - we loved staying there. The owners are friendly and helpful and breakfast is also nice!

Youth Hostel Salzburg

Salzburg, Austria
71%

This hostel isn't like your typical hostel. I think it was an old hospital. It's a solid 25min walk from salzburg town centre. However, the free all you can eat breakfast was quite good. The lockers in the rooms are are nice and big, and there's a lift which helps alot when you've got big bags. All in all it's expensive for what it is but that seems to be the best cheap option in Salzburg. :-)

We enjoyed our stay at skippys for the relaxing location and riverfront rear deck (however this closes at 10pm and there's no other common space to relax in). Skippy is lovely, a very free spirit. Not your normal hostel, quiet small, more like a share house.

Hostel Katowice Centrum

Good hostel for a visit to Katowice. It's a short walk to the the main square. Tram to the station is across the road and takes about 10min the staff is very helpful Aussie Ian looked up bus times so we could get to Bouzov Castle. He also printed our train tickets. I Highly recommended Katowice to brake up the train trip to or from Prague!

One80 is a great hostel but in our four bed dorm we witnessed how bad the cleaners are! The windows don't open much so the room smelled! And the wi-fi was bad!

This place is up a steep hill from the old town so if you were coming from the port it's at least 20mins, very hard with luggage/backpack. Nice and quiet, basic facilities but nice and clean. Good to be able to use washing machine for free.

We stayed in a double cave. Bed was cumfortable. Cave land is a bit out of Fira the Capital so either a bus, long walk or hire an ATV (there are hire places within 5min walk) to get around the island. Staff was very helpful and there was four dogs that were cute and fun to have around.
