Nomads Fat Camel Hostel

Good location in terms of city centre and transport but can be very noisy due to bar downstairs. Lacking in atmosphere because of apartment style layout, people don't tend to use communal areas. Seemed grubby and dirty, my sheets were stained and extremely itchy. Staff seemed ok but when I needed to check out at 4.30am there was no one to give key to despite reception being 24hr. After waiting 10mins someone apologised and said his friend, the receptionist, was busy partying. Not a great hostel.

Fantastic hostel in great location. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, often referring to you by name making you feel at home. Rooms are cosy and warm in winter and hostel is spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it, loved my time here!

Great hostel, good location within walking distance of the opera house and harbour bridge. Staff are lovely, helpful and give great recommendations of places to go. Hostel is clean, spacious and modern and breakfast is basic but with a good selection of cereals/jam.

An ok hostel, nothing wrong with it but nothing stood out. WiFi didn't work in half the hostel, some staff could have been friendlier. Clean place but did see a couple of cockroaches. Breakfast good but system could be clearer! However, room was spacious and pool was excellent on a hot day (although sun loungers are limited!).

I want to say nice things about this place as the owner seemed like a good guy, however we didn't spend a single night here despite having booked 2. After arriving late from a horrendous bus journey we just wanted to sleep yet when we tried to check in we were told they were full so we would be moved somewhere else for the night. Replacement was horrible. Went back next day to be told we're too early, check in later. Later once again told they're full despite us booking in advance. Disappointing

Enjoyed our stay here, room and bathroom both huge, plenty of space. Nicely decorated although no window in room. WiFi was fantastic, best we've experienced in Cambodia. Staff are helpful and location is good, close to river and market and easy to get a tuktuk outside for longer journeys.

Great location near the beach, restaurants and shops and just a short drive from attractions such as mudbaths and vinpearl. Clean and tidy, extremely helpful staff. They make an effort to remember your name which is nice and are more than happy to help you book tours, day trips, taxis etc. The guesthouse is locked up at night and the family live next door so if you're back late you have to ring the bell and wake them up which we felt guilty about but they are always very friendly!

Hanoi Lucky Guesthouse

Friendly, clean guesthouse in good location near the lake in old town. What really makes this place though is the staff, they are so welcoming and helpful. We were ill during our stay here (nothing to do with the guesthouse!!) and staff seemed genuinely concerned, bringing food to our room and offering to call a doctor. We can't thank them enough! A lovely, quiet guesthouse with staff who will bend over backwards to help.

Great hotel, fantastic staff who go out of their way to help you out. My friend celebrated her birthday while staying here and the staff helped arrange for a bottle of wine and a card to be left in our room while we were out. Extremely clean, great facilities with tv and computer in every room, good value for money. The only downside is the hotel is further from the beach and nightlife than we realised, a bit far to walk, but overall a great place to stay.
