Castle Rock Hostel

Good hostel. Great location and facilities - kitchens and common rooms were awesome. Lacked a bit of social atmosphere which is a shame because there was heaps of people around but it seemed like the majority worked there which is fine and everyone seemed nice but they didn't really make an effort to interact with the guests. When you're a solo traveller it's a bit hard to approach a big group that already know each other. Apart from that everything was great!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Anyone can clean in our hostel, but to clarify they're not part of the staff here. These guys all live together so I can definitely see how that closeness can be off putting for guests at times, to counter this we hold events most nights to make sure everyone has a chance to socialise. A good way to break the barriers is to jump on the snooker tournament and talk absolute smack to the alpha male. Once the big dog falls the puppies will follow. -John

Goodmorning Lisbon Hostel

A very homely hostel with super friendly staff. The facilities are great (awesome kitchen, lounge, computer room, xbox room) and the breakfast is the best I've had in a hostel (free waffles, toasties, everything). Staff are good at encouraging you to take part in activates making for a very sociable environment. Hostel is very close to the centre of town but about 45 minutes from the good swimming beach. Staff will be happy to give directions though. Thanks for an awesome stay!

I enjoyed my stay at Grampas. Lovely staff, good vibe, there's always a pub crawl or something to do at night so very sociable atmosphere. Good kitchen and lounge area. It's not right in the old town centre but I think that's kind of good because you can see more of the city walking there. Plus it only takes 10 mins if that. Overall great hostel and great city :)

Best hostel I've stayed in so far. Perfect if you are a lone traveller as the couches in the living area make for a really social environment. Nice outdoor terrace too. Rooms were nice and big enough that everyone could have their stuff out. Lockers were good. Wifi also good but didn't reach the rooms. Staff were friendly. Great part of kreuzberg, walking distance to the clubs and lots of great restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!

Travel Joy Hostels Chelsea

Travel joy is a fantastic hostel, just 15 min bus from the city centre, it still manages to feel like an escape from the busyness of London. The staff were so friendly and helpful, Bobbie even took us clubbing one night! It really felt like a big happy family. There was an ajoining pub downstairs that always had a good atmosphere with open mic nights and live music over the weekends. The food was great and reasonably. We had a great time at Travel joy and we would definitely stay there again.
