The River Hostel

A fantastic place, the best out of the 6 or 7 places I have used in Valencia. The staff are great, very friendly and great at their jobs. The building is amazing, very high specs. The showers are powerful, the kitchen was huge, good wifi, huge lockers, and the beds are very high quality. Great location too, much nearer the metro than it looks on the map, it just takes a 5 min walk through the park to get there. I extended my stay due to how great the hostel was. Highly recommended.

Wifi is poor anywhere but the wifi room, but to be fair, they acknowledge this. The roof terrace is nice, and the beds and lockers are of a good quality. The showers were good too. Definitely a party place, which has it's benefits (meeting people) and downsides (food kept on getting taken from fridge, and can be hard sometimes to get good sleep). Security is good. A few mins walk from a small supermarket. A real shame that they close the main sitting room at 12am though. Overall, nice.

Staff were polite and efficient, good security, and it was based near a lovely church, with some of the rooms having great views of it. Good wifi, a nice light and airy kitchen area, and the building is lovely. Solid beds, good quality bedding, and it was kept clean. There seems to be a heavy police presence in the bars around the corner, literally every day for a week they were there, which I am not sure if it is good or bad(!!). Definitely not a party place, but it does the job very well.

Beds were good, and the location was nice, 3min the trams and a 10min walk from the metro. It lacked a comfortable common area, it did feel very "corporate", so maybe more suited to a work trip as opposed to a place for young people to let their hair down. One night, a man walked in off the street and helped himself to my food, in front of me, as there is no requirement to show any ID to get into the hostel. Staff did not seem bothered. Breakfast was poor, but free. Good lockers, nice terrace.

A nice hostel. Location is very near to the Nou Camp, so would be great for football fans, but it is also near the metro, for getting into the city centre. A 20 min walk from the Magic Fountain. It was kept clean, and the kitchen was good, but no oven. :-( The common room felt a bit claustrophobic, as there was no natural light or ventilation, but the roof terrace was lovely. No wifi up there though, but good wifi elsewhere. A nice, safe place to rest your head, a good crash pad.

A great hostel, everything that you need. Nice, friendly staff, clean, 24 reception, wifi & a great roof terrace. I actually really liked the fact that it is set back from the main city centre, as Las Ramblas is great, but most Catalan people do not spend 7 days a week there. Staying here, you get to see how the real Catalan people live. Cheap bars nearby, that show the football, with beer from €1 and a nice supermarket just around the corner. 39 bus stops outside, and goes to city centre.

Fantastic Hostel. Juan was a true godsend, friendly, and very efficient. Really nice, homely hostel. The town is wonderful, traditional Spanish, and there are 2 cheap supermarkets a 5-10 mins walk away, as well as 3 mini markets within 2-3 mins walk. Wifi was very good, and dependable. Lovely roof terrace with great views, cheap washing machine use, good showers with steady hot water supply, sturdy bunkbeds in the dorm, and a bright and airy dining area. A great place for relaxation

Excellent location, the staff were friendly people, and the building had a great character about it, very old with great high ceilings. I think that the common room could be improved if it was de cluttered, as the vending machine dominates it, and the windows had flags over the windows, so not much natural light, and the kitchen, common room and bathroom could do with a real deep clean. But the location is great, a great nights sleep, nice people there and very central. I would def use again

A fantastic place, a real home away from home. Friendly staff, who really put a lot of effort to help you have a great stay. Solid bunkbeds, the place was kept very clean, and they common room was a great way to meet new people. About 7 mins walk from the town and the bus station, and there were a couple of ovens, so cooking was never a problem. The building has great character. Lots of films available too in case you want a quiet night in. Great mix of nice people there too.
