MEININGER London Hyde Park

London, England

Meininger London is in a fairly central area of town, so for starters the location is great and the underground isn't far away. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help me. The bed was comfortable (definitely a plus for hostels) and the room was kept really clean. I booked a room without an ensuite bathroom though and so the bathroom was incredibly small--like on an airplane only with a shower included. Aside from that though, great hostel, friendly staff, would go back!

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

This is the best hostel I have stayed in! The atmosphere is great for meeting other backpackers and the bar/happy hour can't be beat--I hear some of the locals try to sneak in to get the beer during happy hour! The rooms and beds are comfortable and it's only 10 minutes from the center of the town (and right by the HbF, making transport easy.) Very social hostel, the staff is super friendly and knows the city well. Only complaint is it can be loud, but just in the common area. Breakfast is good!

Do Step Inn

Vienna, Austria

Friendly staff, decent rooms and beds, very nice kitchen and bathrooms. Only complaint is that the hostel is actually in two locations and that's a little weird, but nothing too inconvenient. Best mark it on a map before you go.

Youth Hostel Fussen

Fussen, Germany

Youth Hostel Fussen was an enjoyable place to stay during my visit to Neuschwanstein castle. It's only about 1 km away from the train station, which was great, considering that all the buses stop there too. The staff was very friendly and can speak multiple languages. Breakfast is average hostel fare--cold cuts, cheese, bread, cereal, coffee--but for that it was very good. They offer you a Fussen card for free bus travel too! One complaint: beds aren't too comfy. I would stay there again.
