Takamatsu Century Hotel

Kagawa Pref Takamatsu, Japan

Pros: reasonably priced, clean room, comfy bed, extremely close to the JR station, 5-10 minute walk to shopping and food streets. Cons: no lockers for dorm, reception tried to charge me for a towel even though it says included on Hostelworld. I'd definitely stay here again because it's one of the only affordable places to stay in Takamatsu. I booked 4 bed female dorm but ended up getting the whole room to myself.

Awesome place to stay! I highly recommend Sen Guesthouse and would definitely stay here again. The owners are super nice and welcoming. Location: 5 minute walk to Dogo onsen and station. Atmosphere: great lounge area on the first floor for hanging out and meeting new people. Comfy beds, lockers available, clean bathrooms and showers. Only downside is wifi signal is weak in the rooms but it works perfectly downstairs. We need more hostels like Sen Guesthouse!

No A/C or fans in that hot weather! Are you kidding!? Other than that.. This place is pretty cool. It's at the bottom of a steep hill so beware if you have a big suitcase. Great location, near a tram station and a shopping/food street. Oh and awesome breakfast! Would stay here again.

Totally fine hostel experience but there were a handful of nuisances to deal with. The hassle of waiting at the door for a staffer to let you in, the lackluster breakfast, and the air conditioner frugalness. There are air conditioners but you gotta ask the staff to turn it on for you, even in the middle of the night. Insider tip: you can turn it on yourself if you find the circuit box in the hallway. The breakers are labeled by room but don't tell them we told you so.

Beware of room 1! There are only 4 beds but it is really hot in there at night and the fans aren't enough to cool down the room. Most amenities are monetized (wifi, storing luggage). The decor was beautiful and everything was well organized.

Staff was extremely helpful. Alexander helped us reserve a car by calling in advance. They responded to our email inquiries very quickly. The rooms were a little hot with only a ceiling fan. Bathroom was far from the rooms. Pretty good location: close to bus terminal, beach, and Main street.

Great location and it's nice there's always someone at the front. But two showers for one whole building is not enough.
