We loved staying on the boat! Quite central. I prefer being closer to the canal belt, but this was still a good spot and pretty close to the train station. The staff were helpful and friendly. Not the place for party animals to stay- must be quiet after 11pm, but that suited us perfectly. Having breakfast in the dining room overlooking the harbour was really nice! We had access to a fridge, cutlery & crockery but no microwave etc. We would stay here again

Luna-Park Hotel

Great value for money! Not for fussy/picky people, just a simple bed is all you should expect. Lots of steep stairs, rooms pretty shabby and outdated. But the staff were realy helpful, letting us use their private fridge, microwave and kettle-they went out of their way for us, which we really appreciated. In a non-touristy but nice area, metro, bakeries, shops and restaurant just metres away.

We had a great stay here! We had a double superior room which meant we were in a separate building to the main hostel, stating in a 2 bedroom apartment and sharing a spacious kitchen and bathroom with 2 other people. The kitchen however didnt have pots and pans to use the stove so we could only use the fridge and microwave. Great location, big clean room with fresh towels daily. More like a hotel. A lot of street noise but I used earplugs so no problem. We would return for sure!

Alvaro Residencia

Loved staying here! Full kitchen, first hostel with knives sharp enough to use for chopping vegetables! We got a toilet ensuite even though we didnt pay for ensuite room which was great (shower was separate byt no problem and great shower!) the staff lady Dotti(?) was nice and very helpful. Much nicer than the apartment we stayed at after Alvaro- more spacious, better facilities and much better value. Only issue is getting woken by construction at 8am but some rooms are less affected by noise.

We had a great stay here! We had a twin room with ensuite which was really spacious. A bit of street noise but used earplugs. Well located between town square and beaches,.close to restaurants and supermarket. About 20-25min walk frim train station though. Downsides- the kitchen had barely any cutlery and crockery (i counted 3-4 bowls), most of which was plastic. We arent kids! Breakfast was ok-but you get served set quantities of everything-not sure if you can get seconds. Staff were helpful.

Great central location close to lots of sights and 2 metro stations. Our double room was really spacious but did get quite warm and there was no fan available so we had to have the windows open. Apparently its usually quiet but we had 2 terrible nights sleep due to very noisy people in the building across the street. And it was only temps in high 20s so i think they should invest in some fans. Also a load of laundry is 15€ which is very expensive! 3 big flights of steps up but overall good stay.

Enjoyed having a full kitchen to use and big supermarket nearby. We hired bikes from the hostel (really is the cheapest in town) and rode along the lake which was lovely. About 15 min easy walk from station. Double room with ensuite was nice, could do with repainting though-walls a bit grubby. Also not a fan of the showerhead! Cool outdoor chillout area and good for meeting other travellers. We enjoyed our stay :)

We had a great stay at Balmers. The staff were very friendly and helped suggest things to do as the weather wasnt great. Our private double room was fine. My only dislikes were the showers and I think the kitchen could be improved. Enjoyed the breakfast too. I would recommend this place!

B&B Sosta Sul Lago

Lake Como, Italy
100%

Loved staying here!! Perched over Lake Como the living/dining room provided spectacular lake views. We were provided with lots of food-eggs, pancetta, cheese, frankfurters and a basket of sweet pastries/biscuits that was replenished daily. Close to the ferry station for trips to Bellagio of Varenna-stunning. Giusy the owner was lovely and although she didnt speak much English, she provided us with info about things to do, restaurants etc. Really clean place and LOVED having that kitchen!

I love A'Scalinatella! This was my second time here and I would definitely go again. The owners Filippo and his brother Gabriel are really friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Eg. on our last morning we had to leave before breakfast so Filippo gave us a packed breakfast the night before to take with us. The provided breakfast is delicious. Atrani is the nicest place in Italy in my opinion, such a great village! Do the walk up to Ravello if you are up to it-its amazing!

Hotel Holiday - Praiano

Praiano, Italy

The hotel itself was very nice with beautiful ocean views, no complaints there. We had a negative experience because apparently hostelworld quoted us too low a price. We were able to still pay the quoted price, but the manager lady decided that because other guests pay more, we shouldnt get the included breakfast-we would have to pay 15 euros/day each for what should have been included. She deceptively said we didnt choose the option that included breakfast, a blatant lie to save money! Stingy.

Coliseum Rooms

A nice quiet location in a non-touristy are which we enjoyed. Yet still only 10-15min walk to the Colosseum! Our double room was huge with nice high ceiling. Remenber to let the owner know when youre arriving otherwise you may have to call him to come and let you in. Enjoyed the Italian breakfast of croissant and coffee across the road at the cafe-authentic Rome! We would definitely come back here. Bonus being close to the metro too for easy access to the main trainstation with heavy bags.

Big hike up to the place 15 min from old town. Best to catch bus 3 or 8 if carrying heavy luggage. Ask bus driver/local where to get off and have a map ready. Owners are lovely and will go out of their way for you. Was great having a kitchen to use.

This hostel is the spare 2 rooms in a man's apartment. It is only a short walk from Diocletians Palace and the harbour and the wifi is great. The manager had good English but 2 people that lived there (who we mainly saw) had very poor English. It was a little hard to.find but the street was beautiful and authentic with people living there. It is a small place but the price was good. It was fine for the 1 night we stayed. Any longer and a bigger place would be better

Hostel Bridge

Prague, Czech Republic
69%

The hostel was in a great location right near Charles Bridge, but this also meant there was a lot of passing traffic so it was quite noisy - especially so as it was 36 degrees and we needed the window open! The staff were helpful at suggesting restaurants to try. My criticisms would be that the staff smoke in the common area, so it permanently smells like smoke - I don't like it when people smoke indoors. Also there was a mess on the bathroom floor the whole 3 days we were there.

This is such a great hostel!! Love that breakfast is included, really reasonably priced, close to U-bahn (metro). The staff are really helpful- looking up movie times in English for us, they would go out of their way to help! The rooms are really nice (unlike many hostels), the communal kitchen was great for making dinner. The only thing i didnt like was my pillow- too soft and lumpy. Also it would be great if helmets were available for people hiring bikes (us Aussies are used to wearing them!)

This was a great hostel!! Wifi worked really well in our room, clean bathrooms, fairly spacious room. The hostel has posted up information of things to do in the local area and are helpful in giving advice about where to eat etc. If breakfast was included it would be perfect!

Anker Hostel

Oslo, Norway

The hostel was fine for a couple of nights but many improvements could be made. Each room has a small kitchen which is good, but there's no crockery/utensils, so everytime you want to cook or even eat breakfast, you have to go down a few flights of stairs to reception to hire some bowls etc which is a pain. Also theres a huge fine 4000NOK if your smoke alarm goes off (eg while cooking) and apparently the alarms are sensitive. But the staff member said it should be alright. It was risky!

Very expensive hostel but in a great central location near the harbour and Fishmarket. It would be great to have a bigger kitchen- it was always very crowded. Also lockers for suitcases in dorm rooms would bd good.

Great place! Only negatives-our double room was so tiny there wasn't really room for both of us to stand up at the same time due to the sloped roof-kept banging our heads! Also some of the kitchenware could do with replacing (pots, pans etc). Staff

Nice place. We were at the top of the building- a lot of steep stairs but it was ok for us. Walking distance to main sites we wanted to see. Would have been nice if breakfast was included for the price. Mark who worked there was very helpful, offering us discount passes to nearby attractions. All in all a good stay!
