Pros: cheap, good location - 5 mins to Central Station & 15 to Pitt St Mall. Was able to change my booking two days before. Cons: Extremely stuffy in the rooms. Fans got unplugged so that people could use the powerpoints. Locker handles broken. Door to the room didn't actually lock unless you manually turned the switch before leaving - don't think anyone did this. Not many toilets/showers. Generally unclean. No sign of the included breakfast. Mattress springs v. uncomfortable. Wifi didn't work!
Location was excellent and the majority of staff very friendly. Two major gripes - rooms were nice enough but there was a major design flaw making it impossible to have a shower without getting water everywhere. The squeegee provided to deal with this didn't exactly help. Secondly, breakfast was disappointing with just toast and a hard boiled egg provided, with more options (at a cost) at the studios only. Overall I had a great stay though.
Location was excellent and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Although the rooms did have cooking facilities it's a shame breakfast wasn't included given the price of the room.
It would be good to make it clear that this is in fact 'La Maison du pèlerin'; essentially a house intended for pilgrims on the Santiago de Compostela trail, and therefore has a middle-aged clientele. Nothing wrong with the place itself and I was only there for one night so this was fine, but it would have been nice to know.
Can't fault anything about this hostel - it's brand new; very clean and fun, in a great location and the staff were fantastic! They gave great advice on what to do around Avignon and seemed genuinely in talking to the guests, which is not always the case!

Very new, clean hostel. Lots of common areas to hang out in and activities to do. Staff were friendly, breakfast was great and there was also communal food throughout the day. Good internet.
