Very clean & organized BRAND NEW hostel by the Gare du Nord. Their beds have curtains, lights, power inlets, and everything is pretty clean. However they do not have a kitchen, and their laundry is not ready yet. They do have wifi everywhere in the hostel (which looks more like a hotel), but no PC available for free use. The luggage room has electronic lockers which you have to pay for (EUR 5.00 per 24 hours), and for which you set a password, therefore keyless. They got a Belushi's nice bar.
Outstanding! Loved the experience, this hostel is simply awesome! The staff is really helpful and cares about everything you need! The bracelet-key is really a great idea, the only place I've seen something like that: you feel free to party and go to the beach without the fear of losing your card/key. The atmosphere here is great as well: the free walking tours, beach and pub crawls are within the best ones I ever had. There's got a FREE SHOT every night! Lisbon is a paradise! Amo-te Lisboa! :D
Generally a good hostel, on a very convenient location in the town. Cleanliness is good as well, I totally recommend it for its good value for money. The only bad point was the squeaking beds, which could be improved - even if you try hard not to disturb the fellows around, the beds squeaks. Bring your own locker.
Generally a good hostel. Clean and organized. It just misses a comunal room, with TV & some coaches plus whatever else that makes a cozy space where the interaction among the guests could take place. Concerning the rooms the hostel needs more power inlets and better wifi signal, easy to implement that all. Bed linen was clean. Another missing add-on is a kitchen, I'm sure you would gain good points after providing a good one. The localization is very good in a quiet accessible district.
A good hostel, safe and close to the beach and to what's worthy to see in Nice. I had a good stay along with my friends. The atmosphere is also pretty nice, as the people overnighting in this hostel were easygoing and eager to talk and make friends. The hostel is pretty big, and so is the staff, which can help you out with whatever. I definitely recommend!
Nice hotel, pretty big and with confortable wide rooms. Generally all the areas of the hotel are well cleaned and also your room can be organized everyday upon your wish. The only thing that we didn't like much is the lack of free wi-fi on the rooms, and for having it you have to pay really high fees, but there is free wi-fi on the lounge downstairs, so you should be fine about that.
By far this one of the best hostels I've ever stayed! The owner Jose Maria is a real gentleman, who can help you out with whatever! He can even pick you up when you're lost if you send him your location... I didn't get lost but wow, what an amazing offer! On this hostel you will feel like staying there your whole stay just enjoying the "Home Sweet Home" feeling that it has. There's everything in there, even facilities for cooking and washing your clothes. Everything INCREDIBLY CLEAN. Love it!
Thank you Şakir, thank you all Oldcity staff! This travel was short but amazing! We really had a good time and appreciated the stay, please keep doing your best to make the people to love Istanbul as much as we did. :)
Avoid it! Overall lack of any decent services. Hidden fees everywhere: you pay extra for bed linen (sleeping bags not allowed) and cooking utensils, once there's nothing in the small kitchen cupboard inside the room where you have to cook. There's no real kitchen! There's no lockers and no wifi in the rooms, and the common area (the lobby) is the only spot you can have some. Generally unclean. Unsafe sketchy quarter. Pickpockets likely even in the lobby. Sarcastic ignorant staff. Messy beds.
Good atmosphere, but the bed linen not included is definitely something that gives the hostel a less good rating... :\
A good hostel, no complaints about anything. The happy hour in the bar is really a good idea, I definitely recommend.
