This place was great. We didn't actually stay at the hostel, we we're instead told our room would have to be with an associate due to plumbing issues at Ape Latina. We were given a ride to the new location, which was slightly farther from the city center but still close to the metro. Turns out we got a room with the exact same specifications as our booked room. The air conditioning was heavenly. And the owner talked us through all the stuff to do and when to do it. Great staff, nice room.
Location is quite near the train station but a bit of a walk from San Marco. However, in Venice a long walk is not so bad as it gives lots of time to explore side streets. Maurizio, the owner, was nice enough. The room was clean and we had a canal view, which was great. Although the skeleton key locks didn't seem totally thief-proof, we felt totally safe since the door to the building itself had a more secure lock. Bathroom was large and clean, but breakfast wasn't much. We'd stay here again.
Great spot to save some cash in this expensive town! The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was clean. In Grindelwald just about any window will have a breathtaking view, so of course that was nice. Bathrooms were well taken care of, too. And lots of available info. We would absolutely stay here if we ever get to come back. Hint: to save money buy groceries at Co-op and cook, otherwise meals in the town are very pricey. Also, the scooter bikes down the valley from Bort were a blast.
Can't give a good enough review for this place! Perfect location, great rooms, fantastic staff. They offer free city guides for rent, free bag storage before and after check out, free water, coffee, maps and brochures, the works. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation, the owner personally walked us to a great spot. They also run English tourist info for the city, so they know all the great tours and activities. We can't wait to go to Prague again, very much thanks to this hostel.
A fun place with great staff. When we arrived something happened with our reservation and our room was occupied. The guy took us to the bar, gave us free beers, and worked it out as we waited. Very friendly, nice touch. We quickly got our room, which was clean and felt very safe. We couldn't hear the loud music some other reviews mention. However, you are right next to (basically in) the RLD. Even with us not being all about partying, we thought this was fun. We'd stay here again.
We liked it here, although we didn't have much time. It's a bit of a trip to see the main touristy sites of London, but if you're going to be using St. Pancras as you leave (as we did) the location is quite nice. The staff was friendly enough. As college students, we fit in well with the mostly college-aged crowd. There is a fantastic place for breakfast on your left about midway down King's Cross road as you walk to the station that looks like a hole in the wall but was a true gem.
