Bobs Bunkhouse

Johannesburg, South Africa

Bob's bunkhouse was my last hostel/guest houseafter 8 months of travelling around the world last year, and there would have been no better place to end. Owners are great, they'll give you the best, honest advice, and the location, is actually good (and, anyway, Jo'burg does not really have a center). Plus the area is probably the only one you can walk at night safely (we went to a restaurant nearby and did not feel any risk). I'll travel soon to South Africa and will definitely stay there again.

Green Kiwi Backpacker Hostel

Singapore, Singapore

Nice, clean hostel. Right across a food market. 10 to 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station. You can walk to Little India too. Dorms are quite packed though, more than 10 beds. But I would stay there again.

Transit Point Bed And Breakfast

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Right next to Chinatown. Very helpful staff. Would go again.

Lotus Hotel Samui

Koh Samui, Thailand

Very close to airport, very helpful and friendly staff

Just go there. The place is very nice, the atmosphere great, staff will do everything they can to help. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner, but that's fine.

Vibes Hostel

Quito, Ecuador

The location is perfect, a few hundred meters from the Mariscal square so that you do not have to cross too many streets and risk to get mugged (you see these dodgy people waiting for gringos a few streets away). Yet, the facilities could be better, like having a few more showers because the hostel has quite a number of beds. The big TV is a plus, the pool too.

Hotel Utama

Copacabana, Bolivia

A good hostel I'd recommend in Copacabana. The owners are very nice, the rooms are clean, and even though it is 100m from the main street, it actually ensures you are away from the noise without being away from the restaurants and bars.

Overall, does the job. Nothing fancy but what can you expect in a semi-desert?

Hostal Talar

San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Considering it is in the middle of the desert, the hostel does the job. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is there. The only thing is the location, a bit outside the main street (10 minutes walking, 20 min from the bus station).

Overall, very good hostel for the vibe it has. The venue is very nice, people and staff are great, facilities are clean. You can walk to the center (I'd say 15 minutes) of Santiago and the neighborhood felt safe.

Hostal Vermont

Osorno, Chile

15 to 20 minutes walking from the bus station. Clean hostel, beds ok, well furnished kitchen but I had to give a "tip" to the two ladies as I "cooked a lot", which I found strange. However, good value for money overall

Hospedaje Magallanes
