Hostel Casa del Parque

San Jose, Costa Rica

Great clean kitchen. Big nice rooms. Nice and helpfull staff. Nice park just across the street. Definitely a place we will stay again when we come back on the end of our trip.

A fine place to stay if you are arriving with the bus and need a place to stop over for the night but not a place we would recommend for spending many days. Its big and without a lot of personality but it has a nice rooftop terrace and the breakfast is good. The staff is helpfull but not very personal.

La Casa de Cecilia

Mindo, Ecuador

A nice cozy place to stay. Very helpfull staff. We missed a kitchen and the was a little unstable. Indeed recommendable!

Hostal Belmont Plaza

Quito, Ecuador

A very cheep hostel near the old town. Easy to go sightseeing in the area and easy to catch the local busses around town. Very helpfull staff. Good value for the money. The internet is a little unstable and was not really working in our room but in the common area it was connected but slow. There is no kitchen and the rooftop terrace wasn't really nice.

Good location and easy to go sightseeing from there. OK kitchen and fine bathroom with nice showers. We will stay there again. Good value for the money. They also made a free Pisco tasting for everybody one night.

Banana's Adventure

Huacachina, Peru

A very nice place to stay. We stayed tree nights in a very nice room. they have a lovely little pool and its a great hostel to meet other people. They made a BBQ one night but there was notn't enough food to get full. They said it was with open bar but it was only one bottle for sharing everybody. It was a little expensive but good. They write that people should be quiet after 22 but they played loud music really late. In the bar they serve really nice food too.

Hospedaje Brabant

Nazca, Peru

It has a nice roofterrace and it's a fine hostel for the money. The owner is helpfull and kind. There is hot water in the shower. The kitchen is small but OK.

El Albergue Espanol

Arequipa, Peru

Nice rooftop terrace with view to the vulcanos. Central location and only a few blocks from the shoppingstreet and plaza de armas. Simple rooms. Only hotwater in the daytime when the sun is up. If you like frappochinos and good sandwich you should try the Pura Fruta in the shopping street. Turn right towards plaza de armas, and it will come on your right hand :-D

Apu Wasi Hostels

Cusco, Peru

A nice cozy little hostel on top of a hill with view over the city and still in walking distance from plaza de armas. You can see the Crist statue from the little sweet garden. Kitchen was not totaly clean and we didn't use it. The chairs and table in the garden was broken and breakfast was really simple and not very good. Still recommendable.

Hostal Wohlenberg

Pucon, Chile

Che Lagarto Hostel Calafate

El Calafate, Argentina

A big hostel with not much attention from the staff. We stayed in 14bed dorm a will never do it again. There was a lot of noise in the room wich you must expect with so many people walking in and out all the time...even in the middle of the night. The toilets were really dirty and we shared them with another big dorm! There are no doors to the shower only curtains wich is really strange when its a shared bathroom for both boys and girls. And some of the curtins was broken. WiFi didn't work well.

Hi Patagonia Hostel Puerto Madryn

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

This is the place to stay! One of the best hostels we have stayed in in whole south America. There is everything you need. Not a fancy hostel but the staff will go the extra mile to help you. The host knows about weather - a big help when planning trips to see wildlife. Big lockers where even big bags fits easely. Nice places to hang out both outside and inside. Fine kitchen and the host made bbq one night wich was great! Only two minutes walk from the beach. Indeed recommendable!
