I stayed at this hostel two weeks ago and would not return or recommend it to others. The room (one double bed) was very dirty. There was lots of hair, dust bunnies and visible dirt all over the floor. The bathroom was used by other guests NOT staying in the three rooms that were all sharing a bathroom, so me and my friend had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to finish washing their feet in our rooms shared bathroom. Not very close to nightlife in Hongdae either.

I stayed in a deluxe private room that could sleep two in a double bed and one in a single. There is one shared bathroom, filtered water machine, kettle, gas range and refrigerator for use. Staff was very accomodating and there is a phone available in the gueshouse and also in the main part of the hostel where the dorm rooms are in case the owner needs to be contacted in an emergency. Excellent location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. I would definitely recommend IS@K Guest House!

The private room I stayed in smelled terrible--moldy. The scent permeated my clothing and I only stayed there for two nights. Staff are rude and have difficulty keeping track of e-mails. The air con cannot be set below 29 C ! There are two other people that have private rooms, the walls are paper thin so keep in mind you can hear everything they do. If you want to be downtown and don't mind smelly rooms and rude staff then this is your place. It's better to stay in a different place on the MRT

Even though Hwa-Du is not very close to tourist attractions, there are bus stops located within minutes of the hotel and taxi service. The service was excellent! The rooms, hallways and lobby are clean. There are computers located in the lobby that you can use for internet, etc. There is a complimentary breakfast buffet which was fantastic--there are both local and western options. There are several English speaking staff who are incredibly helpful. All staff were polite and friendly.

I stayed in a single, private room with ensuite bathroom and slept in the most comfortable bed I have slept in ever in a hostel! The room was very cozy and comfortable. The location is close to the MRT, but not within walking distance of major attractions. The staff will try and help you as much as possible.

Location is excellent--within walking distance of Shida night market and Ntl Taiwan University. I would recommend staying here instead of somewhere downtown--better atmosphere and not as crowded. The MRT is around the corner. Catch the staff when you can find them because they are very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, their presence was scarce when I was there. I really don't know where they were. It would have been helpful to talk to them about different attractions, etc. Overall-it's a good place
