Hostel Ruthensteiner Vienna

Vienna, Austria

you really need public transport to get into the city center. massive wonderful kitchen, fun environment with piano, big age range of guests, met nice older couple from florida and teenagers from the states, helpful printed direction slips get you to the main sights, plenty of bathrooms/showers per floor, strange key policy where you leave it with the desk every time you leave, easy cheap breakfast but a bit small

most amazing staff i've encountered, immediately felt at home there w/ cup of tea, they sit you down and show exactly what to do and awesome restaurants to eat at. small enough that we were able to have a great time sitting in community room talking to the other guests as well. stayed in an apartment for two that was big enough to have four. plenty of privacy if you want it. neat electronic security system. kitchen area in common room a bit pathetic but food so cheap & delic in budapest anyway

Hostel Possonium

Bratislava, Slovakia

bratislava is good for a couple hours of sight seeing and a good party. the location is perfect. close enough to the downtown, bars, and only 5 minutes walk from station but far enough away that it doesn't feel seedy. well equiped kitchen, nice bar guy with good lucking food (never tried) welcome shot, good cheap beer. bit loud when on the street side from lots of cars passing

Little Quarter Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

We were moved to the Capri House (owned by the same company) because of a plumbing issue in our room, before we could even check in. My impression is from the two hours we spent waiting for a complimentary cab...that never came. There were ants all over the sink in the kitchen and it just had an overall dirty feel. staff were nice and helpful, but wasted our time saying that the cab was on its way in "five minutes." Capri House seemed cleaner except for the oxymoron that its above a strip club.

Archi Rossi Hostel

Florence, Italy

internet down my entire stay but internet cafe down the street, close to train station and main sights, huge breakfast, beautiful garden to sit in. got a bit sick and the staff was extremely helpful directing me to the pharmacy and very concerned, travelling alone. GREAT hostel for groups but difficult to meet individuals. offer free tour every day, stayed in 8 bed female which had 2 bathrooms inside, comfortable, quiet beds, would stay again

outside has a good, secure lock but room never actually seemed to be locked. location is good if you want to be near the main station, but its a bit of a hike from everything else. staff helpful whenever i needed directions in how to get anywhere. internet passwords are a bit strange and seem to expire after one use so we grabbed a handful for our time there. comfortable, quiet beds. stayed in 4 bedroom first and then when my friends left, 8 bedroom co-ed.good bakery down street. goodtimeoverall

Travel Joy Hostels Chelsea

London, England

the staff members were nice and helpful, showing me to my room and offering me a head light to borrow to read my book. (there are not individual bed lights.) My cover and mattress were covered in hair but i was so exhausted i just put the outside bit on and went to bed. the food downstairs is good and there's a drink deal with beers. some strange locals hang out at the bar. besides the hair the bed was comfortable. bathroom covered in water. great breakfast selection in mornings.

The Cat's Pajamas Hostel

Berlin, Germany

breakfast of meats, cheeses, breads, cornflakes, tea and coffee. very clean facilities, perfect location in a cool area of town, knowledgeable staff, the place looks like it was picked out of pinterest. very cool look. only issue is that the toilette paper doesnt seem to be refilled every day in the bathrooms. never ran out but started to get worried a couple times. but honestly, great hostel. would stay again. saw a family room as well as 6 person co-ed. both real nice looking.

Lotte - The Backpackers

Heidelberg, Germany

staff was extremely welcoming. cozy enough to feel at home. we were there for easter. tiny easter baskets were placed on each bed and a communal basket of colored eggs was left in the sitting area for guests to enjoy. since the bike rental place was closed the staff even lent us some of their own! beds dont squeek. bathrooms so clean. feels more homey than my own home. provided us with guide books. would stay again for sure. best hostel ive ever stayed in.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt

Frankfurt, Germany

bathrooms located in the middle of the halls leave the floor steam filled and the heater was up way high all night so we opened the window and it was fine. cool atmosphere, large area downstairs to hang out in with comfortable chairs and couches. play good music. can charge your phones etc. for free with different hookups. cheap prices on beer. staff very friendly and helpful. beds squeak a fair amount. located super close to the main train station and lots of cheap, good imbisses around
