Hostel Amigo Suites Downtown

The hostel was great, the buffet breakfast and dinner were always amazing and varied every day! The atmosphere was very chilled, not very party, but you can definitely meet people. The rooms weren't great, no windows, prison mattresses, hundreds of mosquitoes, super hot, but you can get a fan. Very clean, WiFi only really on the roof area or the 3rd floor. Plugs only by the door of the room and the lockers were really small. I would stay here again though as the location and food were very good.

Really nice hostel. The area looks bad, but its friendly and safe. 7 mins colectivo from the beach. Big pool, TV and places to hang out. Decent kitchen and BBQ. WiFi only in communal areas. Enough plugs in room but not by all beds. Small, decent lockers. The mattresses are quite worn, you can feel the springs. But its a good place to chill out and explore the area.

You chose the location and continued to stay here for 2 long weeks. Every day I had to clean up after you in the kitchen when you cooked another one of your disgusting rice concoction. All you ever did was sit and smoke all day in my Hostel. If the mattress was not to your liking, how about saying something. What did you ever do to add to the Atmosphere? Its people like you who make running a Hostel a chore. Manuela Hostelowner

Decent hostel. Excellent location on the main park (no view of it though). Giant lockers outside of rooms, can fit 2 backpacks in there. Most of the dorms were single, not bunk beds. Bed linen was very stained but clean. Big bathroom, no hot showers. Great breakfast with huge variety and omelets. Free water and WiFi. Some of the dorms are too hot, even with fans. Some staff were lovely and helpful, others were not helpful at all.

This hostel is usually one for transit, but it has all the basics for a longer stay. Big lockers, WiFi in the dorm room, very very basic breakfast, showers and toilets (relatively clean), basic kitchen. There are no where near enough plugs in the dorm rooms and the hang out spots are very limited, not really a place to meet others. Staff were nice and very helpful, some speak English.

Really good hostel. Only 2 mins from the beach! Lots of free stuff like bikes to rent. Rooms were good with A/C and small lockers. 2 very big and good bathroms in the dorm room. Nice chill out spots. Kitchen for use. WiFi is foods, but doesn't reach the dorms. Can get 1 bar outside of dorms, but best near reception.

Real nice hostel. Stayed in a dorm, the lockers are real small and the sockets aren't near the beds. The WiFi was terrible and non-existant most days. The staff were nice and the rooms were clean. The pool and trampoline are awesome. Good view, 5 mins out of the town. The tours they offer are really overpriced!

Good hostel. WiFi all over and in the rooms. Lockers were real big, and the personal lights and sockets were great. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are a decent size and with 4 to a room, they're good. The kitchen was really disgusting though.

The hostel was pretty average, I stayed in a 3 person dorm. There were no lockers, stains on the bed sheets and the wifi only worked in the reception area. The kitchen was fine, hob and microwave. The showers were very hot. The room didnt really get cleaned and our toilet bin wasnt emptied. The fan didnt work in the room so it was really hot, even in the night. It was quite loud from the street in the morning and during the day. But I did have a double bed! For one night, its an okay place.

Thank you for your response. I will definitely look into the house keeping issue. We will extend our wifi range in the near future. The stain sheets have been replace. Concerning the noise. Flores has parties on weekend so their isn't much we can do about that. Thanks for your response.

The loveliest and most helpful staff! Hostel is down a quiet street but a few blocks from the restaurants and bars. More than half the beds in the dorm are doubles, some share a fan though. The wifi is very good. The kitchen, utensils and bathrooms can do with a deep clean and the shower in the dorm was very weak. The majority of visitors when I went were all 40+ so it didn't make for a very good atmosphere, but a nice place to relax, cute garden and places to chill, with smoke free places

Loved this place! Big room, big lockers, computers, pool table, good kitchen. Good wifi throughout the hostel, nice pancake and pineapple breakfast. There's a big garden to hang out and to smoke, complete with a cat and little dog. Very clean, comfy beds. Lovely and super helpful staff, they even have a long term storage room. Supermarket across the street, buses to downtown, 5 mins from shopping mall and party street! Must stay here!

Drop Bear Hostel

There's hammocks everywhere! Big lockers, huge TV room with lots of movies and couch space for 10+ people. Wifi was good, bar was very good. Rooms are clean, but unfortunately the bathrooms and kitchen aren't so much. Kitchen needs more equipment. The house tour on Sundays is awesome and the staff are very helpful. 7 mins from a big supermarket and the buses to everywhere in and out of town. Quiet neighbourhood but lively atmosphere. Loved dropbear!

Staff are nice, but hit and miss. The events on the board didn't take place, there was just salsa most nights. Showers were dirty, rooms had air con, big lockers (good if not broken), but only had 2 plugs in an 8 person dorm! Wifi kept going down for entire days. Its in old town and about 4 mins walk from a giant supermarket, 15 mins from the bar street and 7 mins from the buses to the beaches and the terminal.

Nice hostel, good staff, clean everything. Tiny lockers but you can take more than 1. WiFi was intermittent. Atmosphere was a bit too calm, didn't feel like a place to have a drink, but that made it very quiet and relaxing. Nice and clean pool but not much room around it to sunbathe. Kitchen was good enough and the staff are lovely. Bare in mind that the night staff don't speak English, but will be happy to try everything to help.

Great staff, but theyre not always at the desk. Very run down hostel, toilets look terrible, walls need cleaning and repaint, bathrooms are scary. Garden smells like a dogs toilet. Great breakfast and big portions at dinner. Can only smoke between the front gates. Not much of an atmosphere until the hostel was full for NYE. Quiet enough at night, good location, but terrible beds and old torn linen.

Staff were not welcoming and didn't get people involved. Doors weren't locked so anyone could come into dorm. No kitchen, poor breakfast. Couldn't check in until 1, despite there being 4 free beds in my dorm. Showers were freezing or burning hot. Dorms and toilets were filthy. Only 1 socket in 20 person dorm.

Loveliest hostel I've been to in Peru! Amazing, proper breakfast available for a decent price, Super nice staff, booked my flight over the lines and bus ticket. Got picked up from the bus station after my bus was late and I gave them a call. Great roof terrace. Neighbourhood is lively, but that's part of the fun.

The brothers are lovely and very helpful, hostel is super clean, WiFi is very good (even in the rooms). Atmosphere is great, you can party with the brothers and their friends, or you can have a quiet one. You can smoke on the roof (which is a WIP at the moment). Highly recommend.

The staff are lovely and really helpful, arranged for my bus tickets down south to be delivered to the hostel. Communal areas are good, nice TV and good DVD collection. It wasn't the cleaned of places and the showers were either ice cold or burning hot. Atmosphere was laid back but didn't seem like a party hostel. In a quiet part of town.

Fatima's Hostel

This place is horrible! There are cockroaches everywhere, overgrown trees which bang on the tin roof so you cannot sleep. The place is filthy and does not get cleaned properly, all the kitchen utensils smell disgusting and cannot be used. On my 4th night, a young man came ot my window at midnight, possibly to try to steal something, luckily I was awake and he fled. Fatima refused to refund me the money for the 3 nights I didnt stay as I left the lights, which I did for security reasons.
