Youth Hostel Meetingpoint

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Average for Amsterdam. There are no locks on the bedroom doors, which is weird and a definite security risk...No electrical outlets in the bedrooms. Location was good...close to a lot of attractions (the palace, the red light district, etc). Staff were nice but not overly helpful. They clean every day, but it always seems dirty in there (might have something to do with all the smoke though).

Very friendly, helpful staff, close to the metros and lots of attractions, very secure. Wish there was air-conditioning, but the staff handed out free ice lollies when it was hot so it made up for it. The wombar is a great place to pregame and make friends, and they have happyhours and give out free deink coupons when you check-in. Just in all a fun, safe, lively place. Would definitely recommend it!

Hotel Kappa

Venice, Italy

Just an average hotel. Pretty out of the way, but the #2 bus stops just down the street from it. Courteous staff. We arrived over an hour before checkin time and they let us check in right away, which we greatly appreciated. Not bad value for money but if you want to explore venice proper, or even just mestre, this hotel is not conveniently situated for either.

Average place. Staff vary from friendly and helpful to ridiculous and useless. Bathrooms are cleaned every day but not sure bedroom floors ever are. Kitchen is a hotplate & microwave. Another reviewer said there were bedbugs but we did a thorough search and found no traces of any. Great location for touring and nightlife. Pretty loud if you want to sleep.
