Old Town Hostel Split, Split, Croatia

17th Sep 2015

Nice small hostel. Little annoyed that when I got to the hostel there was no one there and no one answering the listed telephone numbers, so I had to leave my bag outside even though it was after 11am, but when I checked in the staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect location in the old town and staff can organise a cheap laundry service.

Locanda La Pergola, La Spezia, Italy

La Pergola 'B and B' is quite a nice place to stay. It is quite far out of la spezia, taking about 45 mins- 1 hour to get in by bus. The directions of getting the bus are very unclear, so the first night we just caught a €32 taxi. Gary is very helpful and provides map which were very useful. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the upstairs shower being better than downstairs which had no pressure. This can't be called bed and breakfast as 'breakfast' is just little cakes and biscotti.

The station is 10 minutes by car , around 25 minutes by bus ,possibly you took the wrong bus? Most guests have zero problems as there are 2 buses which arrive within 200m of La Pergola the SC and the C, both from directly outside the station! You did not pay for any breakfast with your room rate so please appreciate that you have had free cakes / toasts /jams , free tea and coffee all day , free WIFI ,free fridge . You paid 18 euros per person on arrival , the value is unbeatable for this !

Kinlay House Dublin, Dublin, Ireland

Not like Kinlay hostel in Galway, lacking atmosphere. There was an incident while I was staying here where a drunk man stumbled into our girls dorm at 6am (not sure why his key worked) and tried to crawl in my bed! Staff were helpful kicking him out though. The roof was also paper thin so upstairs was very noisy. Bathroom floods every time shower is used. Breakfast was average. Quite good location at the edge of the temple bar district.

Very small hostel with not many people staying there so it is lacking atmosphere and a common area. The staff were very helpful though and the rooms were large and clean. It is a bit out of the way, a train is required to get into town.
