I didn't end up staying at Tiger Tims but at Sexy Tractor just around the corner. The place had a great vibe and was cleaned every day. There was a tv room with heaps of movies and shows to watch except they locked it late at night which sucked. Nice big kitchen but get in quik to get any cups. The staff were chill, very friendly and helpful apart from Tim himself who was quite rude and disorganised at times.
The overall vibe of the hostel was terrible, it felt like I was in a hospital. The rooms and halls were eerily quiet, not what you'd expect in such a large hostel. The staff were helpful with any queries I had although they were not all too friendly. No lockers in the rooms and the front door was always open until 10pm so anyone could walk in off the street. The staff were helpful but not all to friendly. Good for a cheap quick stay but wouldn't go again.
I ended up staying at Heart of Sarajevo two more nights than expected! It's in a fantastic location, only a tiny walk to the old town and with bars and restaurants just outside the front door. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the owner walked to me to autobus ticket office when I failed to find it on my own :) During my stay there were both times when the hostel was quiet and when it was full but consistently the atmosphere was great. Would definitely stay here again!
I did not want to leave Mirans hostel and will be back soon for sure! Miran is an amazingly generous and kind man who goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and at ease in his hostel. His tour was a phenomenal experience and I cannot thank him enough for sharing that and his own experiences and knowledge with us. You MUST stay here when in Mostar!
Beach hostel is a great place to stay for the solo traveller! It manages to provide a great meeting place and fun atmosphere as well as a really relaxed and respectful vibe for those wanting to just wind down. It's in the perfect location, the lockers are massive and Ladybird is an interesting character who has a lot of stories about her own travels and life! Will stay here again :)
