The room was great, and Ana and her family were very warm, welcoming, and helpful. The location is amazing, right in the heart of Old Town and a few minutes walk from the beach. Some hostels feel like you're renting a bed for a night or two, but at Ana's it feels very much like a familiar home, like your visiting your favorite relatives. If I find myself in Dubrovnik again, I will definitely rent one of Ana's rooms!
The staff and location are great. As with any hostel, you're experience there is often going to depend on your fellow hostelers. I happened to be there on a night when the place was filled with 20–21 year olds that had been drinking all day, and were consequently acting a fool. Nice kids though, just a bit rowdy. The staff was awesome though, and very friendly and helpful. Wifi doesn't reach the bedroom, but there's a full kitchen to hang out in.
Old Town Hostel is great. The room I stayed in was clean and quiet, there's a kitchen on each floor, and the wifi was strong. Only downside is that there's only one unisex bathroom and two showers on each floor.
Hostel Temza is awesome! Very close to the train station, and not too much further from the bus station. Zagreb is very walkable, and HT is very accessible to all of the sites. There's also a cheap movie theater right around the corner, a grocery store down the street, and plenty of restaurants all about. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable about the sites, transit, and various day trips.
