Hans Brinker Budget Hotel

I stayed there two nights in two different rooms. The best thing: super confortable beds, free lockers in the room, en-suite toilets, really good breakfast included in the price of the room, really good area, not far4 from the centre at all, with rock clubs, jazz bars, cheap restaurants... plus the bus 197 from the airport leaves you 5 min away The worst thing: the showers arent good, lots of noisy ppl, the bar stinks to old beer stains, its big and not too expensive but it smells disgusting

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi, Thanks for your comment. About the smell in the bar: we are really clean, but old bars in Amsterdam can have a light beer smell sometimes. But some great news regarding our bar: we will renovate our common rooms (including the bar) soon! We hope to welcome you again next year (hopefully at our new bar). Greetings, Hans Brinker

Hostel is the size of a big apartment.Cleaning staff left the windows open all day in winter, 3ÂșC outside!!! Staff: The Brittish lady was particularly nasty to some guests (nice to British, Australians and so on, but dirty looks and nasty, patronising remarks to Spanish, Argentinians and others, for no reason at all, they were completely quiet, respectful and clean guests). She knew no Italian at all after years living in Italy. That I consider disrespectful towards the country you're living in.

Big pros and big cons in this accommodation - Pros: less than 5 minutes from the Dioclecian Palace and the main shopping street in town, very handy location to take catamarans too. Cons: Street with looots of traffic all day and night, very difficult to sleep. Really small bathroom, not very clean, not enough hot water. Not enough space for nothing. Its advertised as wheelchair accessible but it is not, it is so small inside that a person with reduced mobility is terribly uncomfortable there
